I like boobs. Just thought I would share that with you all.
I don't really care as to the gender of the characters, providing they are fun characters to play.
Though if biower want to make lady characters with appealing figures, I'm not complaining. I'm not going to make a point of playing a character if I don't like it; just because it has boobies.
Also, this thread won't end well.
Why the obsession with female characters?

really has nothing to do with perversion, but im sure some Freudian could make something out of it. which i could also make the same argument about how perverted it is that dudes play dude characters.
also the human female soldier has the exact same powers as the male, she doesnt even look girly either, but i still pick her every time over the male.
besides all the above, why limit people to only one gender anyway if the game maker has the resources and time to do it, granted its not really a super big deal but more options usually make people happy.

I would much rather take (another) male turian or krogan with a gravity hammer than an ugly femturian with out of proportion mandibles. By the way I am not talking with a perversive point of view. It is just that ugly things should stay out of mp.

I don't get it either, but then I find myself not caring about the gender of multiplayer characters. If a character is male, so be it. If it's female, that's nice.Tokenusername wrote...
Tomb Raider, Bayonetta, Street fighter, Mortal Kombat, and recent Metriods have highly sexualised their female characters to appeal to the male audience, not as any attempt to provide a stronger female perspective.
Times are changing.
Totally off topic, but overtones. Nearly everything of the small amount of the TR rootboot i've seen has shown Lara being whiny and emotional, and being scared of the all male enemies, not to mention the gross overuse of grunting that all sound suspiciously erotic. Everything about that game somehow makes me think of rape.

What?! Women being less durable than men??? This isn't right! That's not realistic at all. That's why the Olympics aren't run as gender-specific competitions!
Oh wait.
If the destroyer can be more durable based on tech alone, why not the rest of the human race? Or anyone for that matter?
You assume your stereotype is galaxy wide in a fictional galaxy, huh?
Yeah.... the fact that men are physically stronger on average than women is "my stereotype".
Ok.
And the fact that menopause is more likely in women? Is that just my sexist brain talking too?
You go out of your way to get offended by this stuff. It's absurd, the world isn't about you or your ridiculous feminist ideas. Bioware doesn't think less of women than they do of men. Neither do I. You claiming that they or I do based on every little inconsistency in gender representation does not change that fact.
Untwist your knickers pls.
When have I accused you of thinking less of women? It's late here, and I don't have the wherewithal to recollect that.
I don't know you personally, I take your board posts lightly. I know you're trying to get a point across, but that point falls flat with me. I simply don't really care. I want what I want.
It's the future. There's technology, and destroyer proves that. There's alien races. There's asari who're biotic professionals. There's krogan women, robots, etc.
There's room for high durability women, and women that can lug heavy weapons.
I'm not offended so much as irritated. I'm not angry so much as bothered. I want to get my point across, and I'm wordy about it every now and then.
My agenda is not feminist per say, it's preference for playing female characters, and a desire to see more of them that I can play in a wider variety. The line often gets blurred, though. Can't really ask for more female characters of larger variety without furthering a feminist cause, huh? Both sides want more representation.
If ya don't like it, I'm sorry. Bioware doesn't have to do much to make my rants go away though.

You said it yourself. They're casters. I'm tired of casters on so many levels, and the bulk of the female roster are casters. Bioware just keeps adding more, and more casters, too.
I'm not really knocking their performance. Not intentionally. They're great at what they do, and I gave props on the inventive combination of old powers, though not so much on the edit of huntress' tac cloak which was made to correct a mistake, but there's a distinct lack of variety in what they do, I find.
I'm just tired of doing what they do, bluntly, coz it's about all I get to do in playing female characters. What they do, they do, arguably, better than other casters, but they're casters.
And most women are flimsy. Some are above normal in durability, but that oft requires a lot of power spam, close proximity to enemies that have shields, and in general relies on cooldowns, and so on.
I'm just not going to be happy until Bioware stops being hung up on giving us female casters, and offers up some variety.
You've nailed it on the head early, and late in your post. None of the women are on the council of weapon masters, nor are any of them Krogard tough. Long and short of it, that's what's going to bother me until Bioware stops relying on wmen being casters.
Their performance can certainly be up there, but there's too many conditions on them being up there for the most part.
Well, you did say their performance wasn't spectacular =P
I will give you that the Valkyrie doesn't do anything new, as she is a more durable Fury. I'd say that the Huntress is a pretty unique spin on the iconic Tactical Cloak, however.
The majority of characters in the game are rather flimsy when it comes to Gold/Platinum. The exceptions consisting mostly of Vanguards and a few characters here and there in the other classes. The increased durability of the heavy races just don't mean as much when they can't dodge and enemies mostly take them to shield gate in 1 burst anyway.
Yes the men have more, but it is not like the women are without durable characters.
The only reason that the Human Soldier is not on the council is because she doesn't have accuracy boosts. I would argue that she is actually better than the Turian Soldier(honestly, I'd be tempted to call her the best Soldier in the game), but she cannot make every weapon good so she doesn't make the list. The ones that she does use well however, she annihilates the enemy with. No other character can fire the Typhoon without stopping to reload it.
The Quarian Female and Human Female Infiltrators are also very potent with a wide range of weaponry, primarily Sniper Rifles and Shotguns but a couple of Assault Rifles as well.
I get that you want more tough and weapon platform females, but refusing to acknowledge current ones(mainly in the weapons users category) will only weaken your position in my opinion. Men outnumber the women in this regard, but the women still exist.
