If you were still in a romance with Morrigan then why does Morrigan tell you about the Ritual?

To put it bluntly my character was planning on sleeping with her anyway, baby or no baby, sort of a last romp before I really might die sort of thing. So she could have gotten her baby even without telling me and I would have been very surprised when I or Alistair (my PC hadn't quite made up his mind who died.) lived after striking the final blow.
My PC thought about it for a minute and came up with the following idea: She wanted me to follow her, while she may have denied it, some part of her did want me to find her & baby and live together....Yes I may be more romantic then I would ever admit in RL.
So just asking for your opinion here, why do you think she told you (If you were male and in love etc)?

Or to let you have a choice. It would be weird if you just didn't die.

She craves power, she will stop at nothing and use the magic for herself. Not everyone is content with a child with the soul of an old god running around. Your life is spared if you do the ritual, at what cost. She has power over a very strong creature

Not true. As a female PC, Alistair obliged Morrigan but it was me that dealt the final blow to the archdemon. We both lived.

Bingo. Dripping hot wax, blood sacrifices, branding irons, clamps where they don't belong...
She didn't want you calling out the safe word.

There may well be some crazy ritualistic stuff that has to be done beforehand, too. Or possibly during, if Uhl has the right of it.
I'd say that perhaps the ritual requires that the "donor" consents with full knowledge of what is happening, but I think it's possible to get Alistair to do it without letting him know about the guaranteed baby.

The ritual involved more than just sex. It would have been nice to see that in the cutscene, but the idea is that sex is the culmination of the ritual and not the entire thing. I'm pretty sure a savvy PC would have figured out that something was up.Sarethus wrote...

To be perfectly honest I would have rather seen cutscene of "more than just sex" than "just sex".

I would have found that interesting as well. I know sometimes it's best to leave things to the imagination but I still would have liked at least a hint of something more happening. All we see is her climbing up his body and blowing out the candle. I actually took that to mean there wasn't much else but sex happening.
