If you were still in a romance with Morrigan then why does Morrigan tell you about the Ritual?

My character was in love with Morrigan and wouldn't let her break it off despite her telling me I would regret it. So when my PC went back to my room after learning of the grey warden's 'duty', I was first surprised that she at what she told me and then surprised when I wondered why she told me.

To put it bluntly my character was planning on sleeping with her anyway, baby or no baby, sort of a last romp before I really might die sort of thing. So she could have gotten her baby even without telling me and I would have been very surprised when I or Alistair (my PC hadn't quite made up his mind who died.) lived after striking the final blow.

My PC thought about it for a minute and came up with the following idea: She wanted me to follow her, while she may have denied it, some part of her did want me to find her & baby and live together....Yes I may be more romantic then I would ever admit in RL.

So just asking for your opinion here, why do you think she told you (If you were male and in love etc)?

Because the ritual might have been kinkier than the regular stuff.

Or to let you have a choice. It would be weird if you just didn't die.

Well, whatever she is for those who dont like her, she is blunt and honest and I could never imagine her lying about something as important, no matter what your intentions about your last night were.

Because while most people are fine wih a romance with Morrgian. Having the essence of the Arch demon, go inside of her son/daughter is very powerfull. Given Morrgian's history through the game. The choices she approves of and dissapproves.

She craves power, she will stop at nothing and use the magic for herself. Not everyone is content with a child with the soul of an old god running around. Your life is spared if you do the ritual, at what cost. She has power over a very strong creature

Not true.  As a female PC, Alistair obliged Morrigan but it was me that dealt the final blow to the archdemon.  We both lived.

Bingo. Dripping hot wax, blood sacrifices, branding irons, clamps where they don't belong...

She didn't want you calling out the safe word.

It's her way of saying you don't need to wear a condom this time.

There needs to be an option when you meet her in the room saying "Get on the bed woman."

If you were still in a romance with Morrigan, it would imply she actually cares about you. As such, she cares enough to reveal her plans and give you a choice. (As opposed to revealing them because it's the only way you'd agree to lay, or convince someone else to lay, with her)

There may well be some crazy ritualistic stuff that has to be done beforehand, too. Or possibly during, if Uhl has the right of it.

I'd say that perhaps the ritual requires that the "donor" consents with full knowledge of what is happening, but I think it's possible to get Alistair to do it without letting him know about the guaranteed baby.

The ritual involved more than just sex. It would have been nice to see that in the cutscene, but the idea is that sex is the culmination of the ritual and not the entire thing. I'm pretty sure a savvy PC would have figured out that something was up. Posted Image

What, you don't think that weird chanting, terrible oaths to gods unkown, and lots of candle and wax is a turn on?

I thought it was standard procedure in all sex!

My 2 cents worth?... Probably because she's just a kinky animal who wants your baby but also intends to mind-f*** with you.. :-P

To be perfectly honest I would have rather seen cutscene of "more than just sex" than "just sex".

Me too, maybe I wouldn't have killed all the rest of my characters if there had been more than just the sex scene. LOL

I would have found that interesting as well. I know sometimes it's best to leave things to the imagination but I still would have liked at least a hint of something more happening. All we see is her climbing up his body and blowing out the candle. I actually took that to mean there wasn't much else but sex happening.

I just presumed the knowing consent of the Warden was required for the ritual to work.

Hey, its magic!

That's interesting because if you tell Alistair why he has to sleep with Morrigan and he confronts her about it, her response is, "Interesting. Honesty wouldn't have been my first choice." Interesting contrast to her bluntness with the male pc. How does that play out if you talk Loghain into it? Same dialogue responses from Morrigan?
