If you were still in a romance with Morrigan then why does Morrigan tell you about the Ritual?

That's interesting because if you tell Alistair why he has to sleep with Morrigan and he confronts her about it, her response is, "Interesting. Honesty wouldn't have been my first choice." Interesting contrast to her bluntness with the male pc. How does that play out if you talk Loghain into it? Same dialogue responses from Morrigan?

Loghain closes his eyes and pretends he's having sex with his dead wife.

Ultimately, even though I didn't know this when my female PC did choose the ritual, it made my revenge against Loghain all the sweeter.

My character was in love with Morrigan and wouldn't let her break it off despite her telling me I would regret it. So when my PC went back to my room after learning of the grey warden's 'duty', I was first surprised that she at what she told me and then surprised when I wondered why she told me.

To put it bluntly my character was planning on sleeping with her anyway, baby or no baby,

You sure?  Because   At a certain point in the romance  (once you reach "love") morrigan *won't* sleep with you.

So think of this as a major, Major "one for the road"

Distinct difference between Old God baby and just a regular baby, as has been pointed out previously, Dark Rituals aren't the only way to conceive children in Thedas.

The ritual involved more than just sex. It would have been nice to see that in the cutscene, but the idea is that sex is the culmination of the ritual and not the entire thing. I'm pretty sure a savvy PC would have figured out that something was up. Posted Image

Thanks for the Info. Much appreciated :), as some people said It would have been nice to some ritual props or goings on but I worked as a Tester and I know full well the things that don't get past the drawing board stage.

Depends on what dialogue options you choose actually. First there is the whole gotten too intimate arguement you have with her and she warns you that you will regret it if you continue the relationship. Then whenever you want to choose sleep with Morrigan select the 'Get in bed, woman' option. She will always let you sleep with her if you choose this. Do not choose the option about her desire/whim.

Ditto. It's not that we're pervy - of course not - but inquiring minds want to know. Did it involve pom poms?

Well, originally there was supposed to be runes and candles marked around the place where the "act" took place, as well as some ritualized casting -- but that made the scene a mite too long. I guess it's sort of like Schrodinger's Ritual now... if you didn't see it, did it really happen? Posted Image

I'm just saying that was the intent, is all. The fact that there's magic happening as well is currently left to the imagination.

We already know children of one Grey Warden, although unlikely, can be conceived and do not bear the taint.

I would imagine Morrigan's ritual greatly increases or guarantees conception and furthermore allows the child to bear the taint. (which is removed by the Archdemon)

Well now I'm never going to be able to look at "Blood Control" in the same way again. Thanks.

Wrong.  Once you reach "love",  she won't sleep with you.   Period.    till the ritual, of course.

And you don't  get the "get in bed"  dialogue option when her approval is 'love'.  You have to  bring it down to "adore" or "care" to get it.

Actually I think her not telling would have made a very interesting sequal to the game. I mean everyone questioning why you didn't die, you have no clue, Morrigan just disappears on you, then rumors pop of her being seen carrying child, you come accross the notes she had detailing the ritual, spawning you to go in search of her and your child! Great story for a sequal if you ask me

Warden: Why do you keep chanting and waving your arms around?
Morrigan: I told you, we're role-playing kinky blood witch and clueless pawn tonight. Now help me kill this cat.

lol that's funny, but given Morrigans nature she could have easily passed off any ritualistic things to ancient protections for an upcoming battle that she read about in Flemmeths Grimoires

See, some of us imagine that's just SOP for Morrigan. So we'd just be - "Oh, the usual then!" and be none the wiser.

Well to be fair to that some of us,
Since you had romaced her before, she could have manged to get all the part of the ritrual as normal romping pratice with her. So that when ritual time come we would be not the wiser.

after 10 year of marriage, if my wife started to paint esoteic symbol on the floor and have candles.  i would ask what the hell is that for?

but if I get that from the bat, when you see the stuff, as a man you go black eyed pea  and start wistling,
i have a feelling
oooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuooooooooooh
that tonight's gonna be a good night.
