it's only pure speculation, but we can always discuss some of things.

so imagine, if ME4's MP will have lobby that's bigger than ME3's MP lobby, where it could be always 4 players.
in ME4 MP it possbily could have at least 5 or 7-8 man player lobby just a right team big enough to tackle a bigger objectives than the ones in ME3 MP? just saying.

Having more than 8 enemies in play should be a priority. As it is there aren't nearly enough enemies for 4 decent players, the game would be boring as hell with 7 people fighting each other to kill something.

Let's hope Bioware will ignore the crapbox and BS3 with their ancient hardware and give us a real challenge. If we can fight against 50 or more enemies at any given time there might be room for an extra player or two.

probably, but i think here has to be a performance limit issue for the Xbox 360 i guess.

Small elite squad? When you have too many players at once it just becomes a cluster****.

Unless ME4 is coming out this year, it's not gooing to be on current gen hardware.

well bioware did say they are working on ME4 so i think it's gonna push the xbox to limit with its current system, but i doubt it'll be on new xbox. New Xbox ain't due (redacted for specfic reasons)
so it'll be long wait.

Microsoft has already said, unofficially, they plan to release the next gen Xbox for the 2013 holiday season ( http://www.bloomberg...day-season.html ). With the upcoming announcement of the PS4 this seems more probable.

Since the next Mass Effect most likely won't be released for a year or two it'll most likely be optimized for the next Xbox moreso than the Xbox 360.

On topic, more than four players would require much bigger maps and more enemies. It'd be something of mess with 5 to 7 players, imo.

The crapbox is what gave you PC players Mass Effect in the first place. You all seem to forget that.

Anyways, only high end gaming PCs would be able to handle that anyways. BioWare would be alienating a huge portion of their fanbase to satisfy the platform elite, which results in loss of profit, which EA won't tolerate. So it won't happen.

Besides, it's more likely that ME4 will be on the next gen consoles, anyways, with better processing, so...

Sure. As long as EA does an overhaul on their servers. Or gets dedicated ones.

So you're basically saying that without consoles there wouldn't be games at all and a company such as Bioware wouldn't even exist?

I dunno what you consider to be a "high end PC" but a 5 year old mid-range PC has like 10x the processing power of today's consoles, just saying. Also, some of the most profitable games - like, say, WoW and the Sims - are PC games which kinda contradicts your point.

The next generation of consoles will be outclassed the moment they hit the shelves. They might be able to compete with average PC hardware for one, maybe two, years and then they will hold back game development like they do right now. I know that in the foreseeable future things are not likely to change, but that doesn't stop me from being disappointed about that fact :(

It isn't my intention to start a console war, so let me just start off by saying that I am by no means arguing which platfrom is best. Now then:

No, I'm saying that if ME hadn't been so successful on the X-Box, neither PC nor PS3 would have it. Just a point to consider when insulting it, at least in regard to ME.

I'm quite aware of the average PC's processing power. And while yes, some of the most successful games are on PC, EA caters mostly to consoles, and even if they didn't, it still cuts their profits either way. As well, those profitable PC games tend to cut corners on graphics for extensive additinal features. Do you want ME4 to look like TOR in terms of graphics?

Trust me, I know the feeling of disappointment with consoles. But there's really nothing we can do as long as computers can't be remotely routed into family TVs. That's the appeal of consoles. I do hope Valve eventually does something about that...

I dream of an advanced civilization where troll stores do not exist. There were no troll stores in Star Trek, damn it!

Imagine:
1)  FOV adjustable to 120
2)  Screen overlays that do not suck your brain out through your eyes
3)  One function at a time per button(no three function one button Death Magic)
4)  Controls that obey and have tight response
5)  No cheap and cheating AI
6)  Two spawn budgets for al lthe difficulty levels, something like the one we have now for gold and something like the one we have for platinum.  The monsters get more powerful with increasing difficulty level, not a different budget.  Right now bronze is a snooze because it's mostly bottom level mooks..
...............

All of nicethugbert's points plus

- Standalone Multiplayer so I don't have to install 15GB of singleplayer crap I don't even play
- Maybe Free 2 Play model als long as pricing is right and everything can be unlocked without money as well
- Coop story mission instead of just horde mode
- A lot of customization options like in Blacklight Retribution
- Awesome Space Ninja moves and skills like in Warframe
- Beautiful HD graphics for PC players like Crysis 3
- Extensive beta testing before official launch
- Maybe some possibilities to mod the game and submit mods
- New content on a regular basis, like new coop missions, gear, weapons, kits...
- Maybe even a separated PvP mode (with more limitations than PvE to keep it balanced)

Probably I can think of much more if I really go into full brainstorm mode ;)

ME4 is probably going on next-gen consoles anyway, so 8 player games are likely. I don't know if I'd enjoy that so much though, there's a certain intimacy to 4 player co-op, which you start to lose when you're fielding an army.

ME4 will be released on next gen console's & more players would obviously equal more enemies, goes without saying really and well, sort of obvious. Good luck for those solo players.
The big question is whether the waves should be increased from 11 with the dodgy EA servers to think about.
