After confirming that the challenge is in effect (top of BSN pages), I exited MP and Origin and restarted. I don't get the splash screen and the challenge does not show up under challenges in MP. Anyone else seeing this?

Same here. I also noticed there were differences in the countdown timer at social.bioware.com/group and social.bioware.com/n7hq before the op started. Not sure that's anything related to there being no op ingame yet
