I just got a new mac mini and I need to figure out how I can trick it into thinking the DVD is in there. Do I need to copy the whole thing onto my drive? It seems like a waste of drive space. I have a purchased legally copy with all the manual/box everything.

Thanks for any help

You probably need to get a DRM free version, the mac version on DVD requires a DVD still. ( Apple store. )

You also could get the PC complete version ( it's not that much, probably cheaper than what you just got ), which would allow you to use Wine, and also let you get the expansions, which are well worth it. There is no longer DRM on that version.

I tried to figure out WINE and it was like learning brain surgery- not friendly to non-technicall people. Maybe I'll have another whirl at it. Thank you, though.

a usb dvd drive might be something to invest in as well.

There are working instructions here for getting Wine working with NWN2, search the forums, been a while but I got it working and it was pretty easy. Note this means you basically aren't using the mac version.

Another option is bootcamp and installing windows.

I have a blog post here that describes how I got NWN2 working using a Wineskin. I was using a Mac mini that had a DVD drive though, so I used the install discs. My best experience playing NWN2 on my Mac though has always been using Bootcamp, Windows XP, and using the PC version.
