There's nothing homophobic about not wanting every single character to be bisexual. I really wonder about people sometimes. Tali's straight. Get over it.clennon8 wrote...

That's not her character. And I don't think they should sacrifice who the character is just for the sake of...whatever that would accomplish.
I was incredibly disappointed to see that done to Kaiden (and I think Ashley too?) What does changing their orientation halfway through the series do except make the company seem like they're pandering, and make the character seem inconsistent (or else really, really desperate).

Just because someone doesn't announce their sexual orientation from the beginning doesn't mean that they're not interested in it, just saying.StormWolf11 wrote...

That's true, maybe Kaidan was just adjusting to the idea in me1 and just went for it in me3 because it was probably the like the last chance he would of had to show his true feelings to male shep.Battlebloodmage wrote...

Yes, romancing is an integral part of the series, but seriously, the more malleable the characters are in terms of possible sexual orientation, the less interesting they become as, you know, characters.
Make them straight, ****** -, bi- or even asexual, but do only one for each character. Sure, some people will be peeved that they can't start a relationship with certain characters based on the gender of their Avatar, but so what?!
Not every fan demand has to be indulged. This isn't porn after all.

I would have picked Ashley,Miranda or Jack as S/S option for female shepard. She already has the lions share of alien romance options.iirc Ashley and Miranda were planned in the first place as options for a female Shepard.
Ashley was never a planned romance for female shepard, her own writer stated that she was never intended to be romanceable by the same sex.
It's a common misconception due to both Meer & Hale reading from the same script in the original game.

Thanks for clearing that one up.Its the section on Mass Effect Wiki about Female Shepard being able to have romanced Ashley thats the root cause of the misconception for me.BornFree87 wrote...

That edit in particular has been changed multiple times, someone on the wiki team seems to want it there for personal reasons.

This always annoyed me in Mass Effect 2. So much of Jack's character development in that game was tied to the romance.Flashflame58 wrote...
How about, you know, the actual bisexual? Jack, anyone?
Since I usually play as a female Shepard I always found it annoying that so much of Jack's story was blocked off.

They should've made Liara exclusive for mshep, and Tali for both Femshep and dudeshep.
Asari reproductive means renders them omni-sexual, often xenophilic, naturally. Though if they wrote that Liara had a preferece for males in humans, it could work. Asari are individuals, and most likely have preferences.
I think it would be ridiculous if about every second squadmate is bi, but that's probably just me.

So, you'e saying that it makes more sense for her to be attracted to anything from elcor and krogan to hanar as long as they are male? (Cf SWTOR relationships) sure...Tali is not "into" women. Get over it, and move on.

Quarians look extremely similar to humans, actually one of the closest. Trying to say that she would magically start to like females simply because we are not the same race is absurd.AlexMBrennan wrote...
I stand by what I said before - making alien romances depend on Shepard's gender is utterly contrived. I doubt that it matters if you get past the different species issue - e.g. cat (a mammal like human Shepard) and a bird (avian like turian Garrus) having any baseline attraction is just absurd. So, you'e saying that it makes more sense for her to be attracted to anything from elcor and krogan to hanar as long as they are male? (Cf SWTOR relationships) sure...Tali is not "into" women. Get over it, and move on.
And you know something? In the end I am right. Because Tali is not a romance option for fshep. It is not canonical, and it never will be.
Please tell me, why does Tali need to be bi? Do you have something against characters that are attracted to only the opposite sex?

Well, I was able to tell the difference. Maybe you should see an optician to prevent... accidents.Quarians look extremely similar to humans, actually one of the closest
[Edit to add: Note that Tali also hooks up with Garrus if neither is romanced - do you want me to tell that turians look just like quarians as well?]
That's not what I wrote - I said that *given* that Tali is attracted to non-quarians at all (which is really mindbogglingly weird IRL so that may affect my opinion) I think that it is contrived for her to be only attracted to manShep.Trying to say that she would magically start to like females simply because we are not the same race is absurd.
Garrus is a better example - he outright says that he's not attracted to humans but wants to be with Shepard anyway - so why only femShep? It can't be her winning personality since manShep is/can be exactly the same. It not logically consistent - it like they made it that way because they have a quota for straight LIs.
Nope. Whether Tali is an romance option for femShep only is irrelevant to the question at hand - whether that restriction is contrived or not.In the end I am right. Because Tali is not a romance option for fshep
At the end of the day, ME romance system is absurd: Barring Me2 loyalty conflicts and getting them killed, LIs don't give a damn about whether Shepard is a xenophobic murderous bastard or a righteous Girl Scout as long as Shepard has the right equipment.
Don't you think that you might be extrapolating a bit too far from me commenting on a single LI?Do you have something against characters that are attracted to only the opposite sex?
I have no problem with Ash, Jacob, Miranda, Vega or Traynor. However, think it's contrived that all the alien squadmember LIs are heterosexual.
(Again, I consider it contrived that only manShep's magical **** can help Jack overcome her psychological issues; Jack being straight is fine

Honestly, Liara is the one LI , that should've been exclusive to Mshep. They did a 360 with Kaidan, and they could've done the Same with Tali. Whilst, I'm not fully supportive of all LI being Bi, it caters to everyone and threads like this don't appear.
Liara exclusive too Mshep, because Fshep dosn't make sense. :innocent:

With Kaidan, you didn't really get to know him much at all in ME1, so him turning out to be bisexual wasn't that surprising. I'm actually glad Bioware didn't just make the VS bisexual by default after ME1. That would have been the easy way out.
