Femshep is not supposed to exist, so it's a moot point.

The developers have confirmed that both Sheps are canon.

Yeah and they also confirmed that there is no canon in Mass Effect.

They could have referred to the decisions made by the players, but the major events should be canon, I think.

Turning a establish heterosexual character bi, just for the sake of being bi, is a disservice to said character.

t
Only because of fan pandering. If both sheps were  truly 'cannon' then: both  would be featured, in all of the marketing. Bioware has a cannon Shepard: and that Shepard  has a penis.

If that's how you want to canon it. Bioware featured male Shepard more simply because that's what appeal to male gamers more. Most of the guys I know don't want to play as a "chick" or a "chick" game.

Yeah, I remember Tali stating very clearly in ME1 and ME2 that she can't see herself with another woman, you're right about that.

How did we all miss that?

If they did that, BSN would complain about everyone being bi...

Obviously, there is no canon storyline set by the player, but the canon hero can be either Sheps depending on who you play as or are you implying the events in ME is just some big dream and didn't happen.
