So you're telling me, Liara - who has proven her skills on battle, and not just physically, mentally as well, isn't worthy of fighting along side Shepard since she can't handle those extremes - Shepard isn't so "stable" himself, but again - he's been taught to show no fear.
I think that's just not wanting her for the sake of not wanting her. Even then, she deals with it in the best way she can and as an individual.
Half of these people shouldn't be on the Normandy because of this mindset, IMO.
Did anyone else enjoy seeing Liara getting put in her place by Javik?

This will probably go around in circles, tbh and I'll just end it here Steel, though I respect your opinion, I just believe a lot of people are trying to nitpick certain things to argue not having Liara on the Normandy. Now, I wouldn't mind if I had a chance to not have her, I'd rather have Jack or Miranda, but I understand why she is there, even if the writers wrote her terribly.

1. Needed a biotic squadmate
2. Liara is the most popular romance
3. She had great potential with LotSB
pity it wasnt delivered on

No one else vocalizes an issue, there's a difference. The two VS's were pretty horrified at human husks way back when, and I really don't see what the problem is. Surprise, people care more about things that happen to things they care about.
As for the breakdown after Thessia... so? What do you care? Don't visit her, or renegade her and support Javik.

Except, she quite clearly can handle it. She gets upset and has a cry for a while, and then she's perfectly fine for the rest of the game. Surprise, not everyone's an emotionless stone.

I don't believe Steel is trying to argue that everyone is "emotionless", just the factor of how it would affect upcoming missions, which it doesn't obviously, since we can see in-game that she's fine after that little "outbreak".

In combat, alot of the time you have to be emotionless. If you hesitate for even a blink of an eye, your dead. Showing to many emotions hampers your performance and jeopardizes the mission making the squadmate a liability. To avoid that you leave them behind and bring someone else. The Night Mammoth wrote...

I would be much more bothered if she (and the other people on my squad) didn't display any reactions at all; that they do have reactions but wait until they're off-duty/on the Normandy is actually a good thing in my book. If Liara were unable to work with Javik after Thessia or was an emotional wreck incapable of doing anything, you might have a point. Clearly, that isn't the case.

Liara obviously shouldn't have gone out of her way to confront Javik but - it should be noted - she stops herself before it escalates further (even if you don't paragon interrupt her). It doesn't affect her performance (neither does the other crew's ways of blowing off steam), and it demonstrates that the writers at least recognized that wartime stress can be pretty severe.

In a normal universe. She breaks down after you get back, and is fine within an hour, and stays that way for the rest of the game.
