Jedi stories aren't very personal, but still pretty OK

Jedi and personal would be against the lore.

Jedi must be boring, riteous and dramatic, no fun allowed. Kinda like a Warden, only worse.

I remember the storyline in Jedi Academy... Not even DA combat made me facepalm so much. And I love that game, but the whole Jedi crap was so stupidly boring and uninsipred, as it never is. I wish BioWare deviates from that as much as possible. Let us be selfish, immoral, perverted and whatever. Let us be human, enough with holleywood "superhero monk dramatic ultimate sacrifise" person.

Eh, Jedi are supposed to try to be boring, but they fail quite a bit and that's where the story can come from.  But it's hard to represent the lure of the Dark Side in a computer game.

The problem here is really not in BioWare failing to represent it, but rather in the universe they did that game in. Could you really say that Dark Side is any less boring than Jedi? Like really, there is barely any difference except ones use red swords and have a philosophy of exploiting power and others like rainbows (hence the swords) and have the philosphy of using the power as rarely as they can.

Ultimtaely the two groups are monanstery-boring and the problem here comes from the universe that Lucas designed clearly taking inspartion from Chinese philosophers, which are not supposed to be entertaining. The reason it got famous is because it was very detailed and quite unique.

Then back to our discussion, even though BioWare has stopped doing SW single player games (thank god), they still aren't able to properly make a good lifelike main character and storyline. They always go with the holleywood storyline. Their characters in games feel like characters and not like people, see the difference?

I think in DA2 they went in the right direction to make the game feel a bit more like you are a person living in the world rather than playing on a stage, even though it was very poorly executed and the only "path" conforming to such feeling was that of humour (which was hilarious though). And there were also barely any character and world interactions, involvement, well we've gone over that in this thread many times.

I think if DA3 is to "redeem" their reputation after DA2 and ME3, it would have to go further down that "lifelike" route and execute it properly this time, because if they take the old "stage" approach again it will be vastly overshadowed by Witcher 3, in addition to seeming merely "OK", which right now for BioWare is not enough, at least in my eyes and of my friends I play with. DA3 will have to be extraordinary, something like what ME2 and Origins were when they came out.
