so, i've had nwn 1.69 working great on my old xp system for a decade now.  i finally moved up to windows 7 x64.

i followed these directions (http://social.biowar...7/index/3341490), copied my old install folder over and set compat mode for nwn and nwmain.

when i launch the game, and join a server, about 1/2 way through the loading bar, i get an error pop up saying there's no disk in the drive and other stuff.  here's a screenshot:

i don't recall other people ever having this problem.  any ideas?

Remove any sort of card readers you may have connected to your system.

Perhaps you had an external USB device, such as DVD disc, hard drives, etc., a program is expecting them to be turned on or available? (A zip drive assigned as drive C for example).

Perhaps you have a virus scanner (Symantec, Norton, etc), malware scanner or some other software that is configured to scan or monitor every drive letter assigned to the OS, in which case, something that it's looking for is either not plugged in, turned off or was plugged in at one point, became assigned by the program and now is no longer available.

I haven't played on a server in years; however, I installed my Diamond edition in programs 86 folder, without checking any of the compatibility and privilege boxes and it runs in single player mode beautifully.

I do agree with Fester Pot, though, about virus programs. Norton has had a history of mucking things up. If you have it, I suggest switching to Microsoft Essentials or AVG (free version)

yup, you're right. it was tripping me up because it's purely a windows error. i couldn't find that error combined with nwn.
