So it just struck me that the narrator throughout the game including the slides in the epilogue is Duncan. Shouldn't he be a little too dead to know how everything ended? Anyone else find this a bit weird?

He's there in spirit form, I guess. Would be more useful if he gave advice to the PCs, actually.

The Dungeon Master portrays Duncan in his own voice, that's all. :)

He did narrate the beginning aswell mind. I reckon they just thought It'd make sense having Duncan narrate the ending. Being as epic as he was. :)

He was metagaming at the beginning. He pre-recorded all the possible outcomes so he couldn't be wrong.

Just because He's narrating doesn't mean he's alive, narrators operate behind the fourth wall after all.

Hardly the first work that's had a dead or removed 'narrator' give the conclusion. Narration is, by definition, outside the normal PoV of the story in any case.

It's a common literary device that a story be narrated by somone who died at the start.

The answer is in fact, the beard. Do not doubt the power of the beard.

Skadi, I'm sorry, but this time you're just wrong. It's definitely the earring - not the beard.

I disagree. The darkspawn took the earring because it was so shiny. But the beard lives on. ;)

Well, he's a Gray Warden. If you strike him down, he shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine.

Obi-Wan never murdered anyone in cold blood.  yah I went there.  yah it's true.

though Anakin did the whole force-ghost thing too so I guess there is redemption even for a murderer like Duncan

I always figured that Duncan was still with me and my party, even after he died. He watched down over me at the Maker's side and watched with pride as the Grey Wardens once again saved the world from the blight.

Maybe he's been captured by the darkspawn and turned into a Brood Fath-

No, wait. I better stop here or I won't get those pictures out of my head.

The Architects influence over his darkspawn allows control. He takes prisoners sometimes.. just my 2 cents worth

So we could have beaten the darkspawn with a cold at the very end? I think not. Besides, he's signed on to play the Maker.
