Read extensivley and theres so much conflicting data,

Playing a Vanguard with 200% recharge and pretty much chaining biotic charge and nova.

Will likley use a M77 paladin so.....

Is there a preferred ammo power? Cyro seems adequate....I could take warp ammo as bonus but I prefer Reave or Dominate as a great decoy.

Ideas?

Incendiary for Shepard: Damage, Headshots, Explosive Burst.

For Squad, Cryo Ammo: Squad Bonus, Headshots, Frozen Vulnerability.

For Bonus, Barrier would be good, as would be Reave or Dark Channel. Patch 1.05 may have inadvertantly changed some single player powers, so Fortification may be a better bonus power than Barrier.

You do not need a strict +200% weight. The closer you get to +200%, you get diminishing returns in recharge speed.

Shotguns are good for a Vanguard. I recently have started fiddling with a Vanguard for a bit and the Scimitar is surprisingly good with Incendiary Ammo, especially with the Explosive Burst evolution. Pirhana (DLC weapon) should also be good. Some people like the Reegar (DLC weapon)7 in multiplayer with Vanguards, and the Reegar plus Incendiary Ammo works nicely together if you know how to use it (I do not).

Claymore is always a solid choice.

I did not know about the diminishing returns. Excellent.

Seems like shotgun would be quite nice.

TBH, I have been charging in and if the mob is left standing I one **** it with an executioner pistol...they explode in a block of ice...and I'm off charging the next opponent.

You can sort of do this non stop.

Recharge speed formula is listed here and here. You can do the math yourself, but basically the difference between say 100% and 200% is anywhere from 0.5 to 1 second for most powers which is hardly noticeable.

Biotic Charge also gives you (undocumented in-game) +50% damage reduction for 4 seconds after a charge. So you can also stack it with Barrier, Defense Matrix, or Fortification for added damage reduction.
