I'm interested in purchasing an ultrabook, but I don't know how to pick. I like an ultrabook because it's small and can be carried around easily. I heard that they lack in processing power, and so they wouldn't be able to run a lot of games. What kind of processor, batter, or video card should I look for while searching for a laptop, you know?
Help me pick out an ultrabook

I was looking at laptops just yesterday and loved the Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A-DB51 but I'm on a budget and it was out of my price range. It sells for about $1,000 US dollars depending on the retailer. But you really can't use this for mainstream gaming, even with its i7 processor.
From what I read there is an identical version of this ultrabook -- the Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A-R5102F that sells for about $800 US dollars at Kmart. Not sure about availability.
Staples had an Asus Vivobook X202 laptop -- not an ultrabook exactly but half the price with similar bells and whistles -- even a touchscreen -- for $530 US dollars. I looked at this one in the store and it looked really small at 11" so I didn't buy it.
There is the middle-ground option the Asus Vivobook S400CA-UH51 with an i5 processor that sells for about $700 US dollars.
The Toshiba Portege might be a good choice too at $800.

If you don't need it immediately and you really prefer the thin ultrabook form factor laptop, I suggest to wait a couple months until Haswell drops. Reportedly the Haswell GT3 integrated graphics will run most games at 1920x1080. The current gen Intel HD4000 can run some games at 1366x768, but can't handle 1080p
Otherwise, there are only a few really thin ultrabook form factor options with decent gaming cards:
- the Razer Blade, which is $2500 (i7-3632QM, Nvidia 660m, 1080p display, 0.88" thick)
- Asus U500 (i7-3632QM, Nvidia 650m, 1080p display, 0.82" thick), price not announced yet
- Samsung Chronos 7 Model H (i7-3635QM, AMD 8870m, 1080p diplay, 0.82" thick) price should be around $1,700
If you don't mind something a little larger form factor, there are quite a few mid-range laptops already available under $1,000 that can run games at 1080p. Ideally look for something with 1080p display, quad core Ivy Bridge CPU and for the graphics card, go with Nvidia 640m, 645m, 650m, or AMD 7730m, 7750m or better.
For example, there have been some recent sales deals for Lenovo and HP - for around $800 you could buy either the Lenovo Y580 (i7-3632QM, Nvidia 660m, 1080p display, 1.4" thick) or the hp dv6t-7300 Quad (i7-3740QM, Nvidia 650m, 1080p display, 1.16" thick).
