Not the best, not the worst. Fills a pretty interesting roll in ME2, and then becomes completely boring in ME3.

Funny thing is, the only squadmate in ME2 I didn't really like was Jack - but I am really glad she was in the game. Its interesting but I just didn't like her personality, she bugged me, but I was still glad she was there. She clashed with my Shep and made things interesting. I thought her story was done well and she definately had a place. This is one of the areas where, I feel, ME3 fell down. Even if I didn't like a character in the previous ME games, I understood their place.
With ME3, and Vega in particular, I didn't find out enought to dislike him. He was just - meh. A none entity. And that is a big failing I feel.

But I dunno. I find that her character lacks any real substance. Shes interesting to a degree, but at the end of the day shes fairly predictable in what shes gonna say and/or do. Very generic.
Now Jacob.. he was boring. Im not even saying that to pick on Jacob. I liked him as a character, but I still felt that he was kinda boring. "Tim Nice But Dim" one might call him.

True, although it was pretty beast when she owned her dad.

In ME3 her plot is...uh...pretty bad. I mean, did they really have to go back to the "My dad is evil/have to save my sister" plot line? It wasn't that interesting in ME2 either.
I am glad to see I'm not the only one who isn't a fan of Zaeed though!

That part I liked.

I wasnt too hurt when she died. She'd make a great LI for a womanizing shepard if i make one.

I actually like Zaeed. I just hate the Zaeed dialogue in ME2 where you stand there playing with the trash compactor while he talks. ME3 is more or less the same in that regard.. only there is no trash compactor to play with while the crew talks amongst themselves ; ;

I agree, but I think BioWare was trying to make Jacob like that. You know, soldier with a good heart that can kick-ass. Than again, I liked James Vega more...

This. Not the best in ME2, but decent enough. Horrible in ME3, like many other things.

Though the constant AssCam shots and sister angst got tiring after a while.

I like Miranda. She cares about her loved ones, can kick ass on the battlefield and is hot as hell. What's not to like?
Very true, but when you compare her to the other female crew members, it feels like she becomes, in the words of Jack, a 'Cheerleader'.

Exactly that is what I wanted. Instead they character-assassinated Liara to give her the role. Pfft.Belisarius25 wrote...

I think Miranda is the most interesting character of ME2, but what they did with her in ME3 is a shame. No connection (or only an accidental one) to the Cerberus plot, no presence on Cronos station - how fitting it would've been had her story ended where it began? Then the rehash of her loyalty mission, her fight against Kai Leng, which could've made her appearance impressive, happening only off-screen and turning her into a generic good gal, to say nothing if the insinuations in her extended death scene. It's enraging. In ME3 her plot is...uh...pretty bad. I mean, did they really have to go back to the "My dad is evil/have to save my sister" plot line?
I guess compared with the other ME2 team members, it isn't too bad, but her story potential was almost completely wasted. To have that happen to my favorite character is.....very disappointing.

Not to mention that she's one of the few who isn't immediately enamored the second she meets Shepard. Knowing this from her introduction, it's a little strange how her skeptical side disappears when you first talk to her in her office on the Normandy.
I'm also fond of her romance. Shepard and Miranda... Flow together, for lack of a better term. How Shepard helps her overcome her insecurities about her upbringing and unravels her icy facade is touching.
Miranda being voiced by and modeled after Yvonne Strahovski is just a bonus.

But to me she is indeed one of the most interesting characters in the ME universe from the different thematics and ethical perspectives that arise from her creation, her character development through ME2 to ME3 (though not all perfect thank you bad writing), her time to time pragmatism, her vision of humanity etc.
And she also suits personalities often found in art films, especially from a french director called Robert Bresson.
So yea to me she is an interesting character.

You'd have to completely rewrite both characters.

Interesting concept but they never really do much with it.
When it's all said and done, her character amounts to daddy-issues and her sister more than anything else.

If there is one thing other than the ending that Mass Effect 3 did not exactly get was the connection between the plots that occuredin Mass Effect 2. Bioware still did a pretty good job.

In ME3 her character self-destructed. But that happened with the whole ME franchise, so I tend to ignore part 3.
