My Jackmancer ate them with the same nonchalantness that he showed when he killed her.

Seriously, BioWare really dropped the ball there.

..and Shepard still acts the same if he kills her, while being romanced. "Hey Shepard, you just killed your love" "I should go".

No real big fan of Miranda - liked her at the start of ME2, but she just moaned about being perfect all the time to the point it got annoying. The gratuitous 'LOOK AT HER ARSE BOYS' shots didn't help.
However, that said, I would have much preferred EDI's role was replaced with Miranda (with EDI being the backup if Miranda was dead). Would've made much more sense and actually given more of a nod back to ME2. As it was, she was wasted in ME3 and her role was a lazy rehash of ME2 which put me off even more, which was a shame. There was an interesting character in there but they just dropped the ball.

Along with a bunch of kids and who knows what else happened to David Archer and Kahlee. For an Ashley fan, you're not too fond of humans.

Let David stay at Project Overlord. Also, not an Ashley fan. Said that I was a fan of the romance arc. If you're going by my group list, I also blame Fiddles for everything, even though I've only talked to her twice, and I'm pro-templar, which also isn't true.

Overlord? Damn. Guess it's kind of pointless bringing anything about Grissom up.

Pretty much all of the ME2 characters were wasted in ME3. But, with the possible exception of Jacob (who I could hardly stand in ME2, TBH), Miranda suffers the most, I agree. I thought she was very interesting in ME2. Close enough that my renegade almost romanced her, but couldn't get over the fact she thought making him her slave was a good idea. Jack at least has a beleivable reason for not joining you in ME3, and actually grows as a character, so you can feel good for her, or at least accept her choice. Miranda, especially post Horizon, makes no sense at all.

And I have to agree about EDI. As much as I love hearing her voice, the only character I use less than her is Ashley (who suffers because James does everything she does better).

I'd prefer Ash over James if her damn Marksman skill was fixed. Otherwise, whatever.

Don't mean to derail though.

Yeah her marksman being bugged sucks but Vega and her fill two different roles, she's the heavy damage dealer and he's the tank, they cannot do each other's roles better than the other.

Anyway, I am getting off topic too :wizard:

It doesn't really matter much to me anyways, since my main was/is a soldier too. They both meld well no matter how I play.

Same for my Vanguard, the two have amazing synergy together. Pyromancer Vanguard FTW. Human supremacy:ph34r:

My main complaint is that I never again got the impression she was the super-genius that defeated brain death after ME2's intro.

That is a bit bizarre. She is obviously supposed to be a scientist or a medical doctor of some sort, but other than mentioning that she was the lead for Project Lazarus that bit of her background gets practically no mention. She was too busy talking about her perfect genes I guess.

Compare her to Mordin and Liara, the two other scientists on the squad. Their science backgrounds get a lot more attention in comparison.

It did kind of fall by the wayside after it was no longer a useful plot point...

Something all the Mirandalorians regret, except perhaps MEfanforlife

I always figured she was just an administrator of some sort. Wilson seemed to be one of the actual working scientists.

She's an interesting character who sadly gets underdeveloped, both in ME2 and ME3. Her ME2 loyalty mission content is fine, until it becomes the basis for her betrayal of the Illusive Man, which doesn't entirely make sense (especially if you get her loyalty check with Jack towards the end of the game where she's still defending Cerberus). She needed more content in that game to flesh out why she is no longer okay with being seen as merely a tool. It's connected with her father, but they needed more work for that connection to feel satisfying.

Then, in ME3, we get a rehash of her loyalty mission when she could have really played an important part in the Cerberus plot beyond exposing Sanctuary.

In my mind she is a victim of the polarity of ME2. If your content is side content you're golden. However, if your content touches the main plot it gets fried.

Can you clarify this more?

I just think LotSB changed a lot of their priorities. What was DLC and side content became the basis for the main story.

This is just my reflection on ME2 as a whole. I do think ME2 does have good writing, actually some of the best writing in the series. However, that writing isn't in the required missions of the game (Shepard dying, joining Cerberus, the Collectors, the Collector Base decision, etc). That writing is in the recruitment and loyalty missions, the flavor text, world building on Illium (I really love Illium, don't like typing it though -- so many parallel lines!), etc.

In Miranda's case her Loyalty mission kinda defrosts her ice-queen image through touchy feely goodness. At the end of the game though, everyone is suddenly all set to leave Cerberus because TIM wanted to keep the base?

I'm going to stamp an unpopular opinion alert here and assert that I personally loved the intro to ME2. I was on PS3, so I hadn't played 1 (just watched the cutscenes) and felt that the intro, along with what followed, was the perfect introduction to the series for me, allowing me to meet everyone again for the first time, so to speak.
