Yeah! I think that's what I respect about Morrigan's romance. She's not really a damsel sort of girl. Lots of strong female characters in DA:O.

Leliana's accent? yeah, it's pretty bad.

I suppose Morrigan is more like Jack that way then?

FYI I preferred the friend arc, too. Romance worked best IMO after reaching and holding at the Friend stage for a reasonable amount of time.

Yeah but she actually acknowledges your friendship in a touchy freely manner (Where's Jack just tells you to buzz off in ME2).

Morrigan/Jack romance is comparable, yeah. I could see that.

I really wanted to like the Tali romance, since she was one of my favorite characters.

Never romanced anyone as femshep. If they'd had a joker romance I woulda' gone that route though.

Ashley was just fine for me, although I don't want to romance her on any more playthroughs. I found Liara's friendship more touching than the romance, in the end.  And then Miranda... would have picked her if they'd done the character justice through the dialogues. I felt that the platitudes Shepard gave her totally sank the mood, lol.

I found that quite endearing:wizard:

She's my second choice for romance

Jack telling you to buzz off? lol.  I did like her contrast.  I felt for her upbringing, which kinda took away from my interest in seeing a romance with her.  Miranda had no such faults, but that's not her fault.

I was going to do a Jack romance, until I saw the tone the romance took in ME3. What was I expecting though? oh well.

Yep.

Ugh As soon as she went "lol herbal supplments means we can bone." I went NOPE. Because that totally made the Quarians whole "but but we can only have Rannoch!" bit look retarded. It got worse with her whole "lol I got used to you Shepard."

So it takes her a few rolls in the hay not to get sick from Shepard. So what exactly is all that qqing about not being able to adapt about.

And god Shep's "You want this" line made me wanna barf. No Shepard. Nooooooooooooo.

Yeah she pretty much goes buzz off. And Woe betide you pick the wrong no in the rejecting romance choice. Then you get told to F*** off. (whoever had the bright idea to put in a fake no in her conversation needed a kick in the balls).

Yeah, I hate to say what I really feel about the Tali romance. Seems kinda wrong, lol.

I would've liked a Kelly Chambers that talked more rather than dancing in your cabin after the game was over. If she'd been a more decisive character I'd just go with her. I think a civilian mindset would contrast Shepard nicely.

I'll be intrigued to see Morrigan again in DA:I.  Really looking forward to that actually, to see how she's grown, how her plans turned out etc.  That's made me consider finishing another playthrough, doesn't quite interest me enough to go through the whole process though.  Another benefit of having the Keep, lol.

True and yes agreed I want to see a more mature Morrigan (who hopefully will have actually gotten far more adept at manipulating people and learned the whole one hand washes the other thing).

I'm headed off, pretty fun discussion though.   Being able to go completely off-topic is nice.

Fair enough! :P

I'd romance Lustful Lao before I'd romance Jacob.

I don't even know who that is, but coming over Jacob is hardly a glowing recommendation

but now it is time that I got some sleep as well ;)

Miranda was someone I hated to begin with, because she in ME2 she started as a cold ice queen, but as soon you got on the Normandy she was all "I want to your friend and tell you everything" then she starts to whine about her father and perfect genes.

I was like "what the hell happen that suddenly went from ice queen to whiney girl?" A sudden change of character out of nowhere was not something I liked, but after ME3 (screw the ending, everyone lives expect the Reapers) and the Citadel DLC she grew on me. Now I can kind of like her, but I still don't like her sudden personality change in ME2.

But she isn't a dull character as say Jacob, Diana Allers (why was she is ME3 again?) and the Star Child (Main Villains should never be revealed like that or live on the same place that was important in previous plot points) who are well Jacob, Allers and Star Child who in my opinion some of the dullest characters in the ME universe and is just a wast of space as far as I'm concerened.

I could never figure out how to match myself with the mage origin. The initial situation is artificial.

Personally I don't particularly care for that origin. It struck me as uninteresting, but then I'm not all that fond of the mage class either.

Dual-wielding rocks. Alienage elf warrior had a starsword and something comparably sweet in the other hand, in the end.

I found dual-wielding to be the most rewarding, but I guess I was always so much fonder of stabbing and sweeping the enemies.

ME3 did the same thing to my femshep's face. My mshep turned out ok though.

I actually like how my ME3 femShep looks, but as far as likeness goes, it's definitely different, which is a bit of a disappointment, but not enough to break the deal. Still, most custom femSheps I've seen look worlds better than the default.

Never ended up playing a male character aside from being a Cousland, which I played through almost twice. Only played Alienage Female Elf for the other two play-throughs, one was a redux because I'd made weird choices in my first playthrough.

I think the Cousland background is my favorite, mainly because it makes resolving the situation with Howe much more satisfying.

I was fairly indifferent to Miranda in the beginning, but she grew on me. Jack and Mordin drew in most of my attention in ME2, though. Her issues with her father were a bit distant, whereas the other two had some serious demons to contend with and we got to see it up close.

I prefer the romance routes for everyone save Morrigan. Her friendship route is much stronger to me.

Or you could just do the friendship route all the way until you beat Flemeth, and then switch to romance. It's what I do. The most you could miss out on is a few bootycalls, if that kind of thing is important to you.

She had a cool concept and I rather like her friendship arc, but I think that characters like Miranda have been done better before (Bastila and Silk Fox are such examples). Her ruthless streak was also dropped a bit too quickly/abruptly imo.

The other issue is if you have a character whose stated purpose is to be perfect, where is the interest going to be in them? Miranda's flaws seem to be 'I'm so perfect I can't do ordinary stuff like you mere mortals' hence the focus on her sister. This is doubly so since they turned down her ruthlessness which made her interesting at the start - the first thing she does when you meet her? Shoot someone out of hand. I was like 'oho, this could be interesting' but it just sort of disappeared.

ME2:She was very interesting. I was hoping her being genetically engineered that Bioware would delve into whether or not she has a "soul". This would have gone very well with the theme of whether or not synthetics are "alive", because by definition, Miranda is synthetic.

ME3:Orioriorioriorioriorioriorioriorioriori......

I think a lot of the blame can be laid on Jay Watamuniak too.He didn't do much better with Ash either. And Grunt, while hard to ruin, is nothing like he used to be. Brian Kindregan wrote a lot of Grunt and all of the Tuchanka atmosphere in ME2. He wrote Okeer, he wrote the Shaman, and had these cool (or rather, radical) themes about how Krogan would find a future by embracing destruction. All of that gets thrown out and Grunt just became a sort of generic, cuddly Brute trope. He was more complicated before. As was Ash and Miranda.

And if it's not his fault, it's some higher up's fault for directing it this way. Maybe he's just responsible for execution. Not the story direction.

Losing Kindregan is as much a loss as losing L'Etoile. He also originally wrote Jack. And lets not forget the Shaman's line: "I like this human. He understands!"
