When you get down to it, the Darkspawn/Archdemons/Grey Wardens and the Reapers/Cerberus are very much alike:
-While the GWs drink Darkspawn blood to be able to sense the Darkspawn, become immune to the Blight and kill the Archdemons (and stop their bodies from corroding caused by the Blight...for a while), Cerberus soldiers are upgraded with Reaper Tech to become more than human, stronger and faster, etc.
-GWs eventually succumb to the "Calling", meaning if they live long enough, the Archdemons will control their minds, just like they do with the Darkspawn.
The Reapers can control anybody, but people like the Cerberus soldiers, who already have their tech implemented, become easier to indoctrinate.
-Anyone who is infected with the Blight will either die or become kind of mindless zombies, controlled by the Archdemons (Humans and animals alike... probably golems as well).
Any race can huskified by the Reaper to become their mindless zombies, fighting as their vanguard.

I had some more examples in mind, but I can't remember them right now ^^" (But I guess someone else can come up with them, so please do so).
What do you think about it?
So I've been thinking...

But there are differences.
Grey Wardens, if they survive the joining, maintain free will for most of their lifespan. Cerberus soldiers have no free will of their own due to indoctrination.

As you said, most of their life time, but all of them succumb to the Calling, slowly turning them into the equivalent of a husk.
As far as I understand it, indoctrination leaves them more or less their free will, only influencing the person in question so they adapt the Reaper's will, making them believe that what they do is what they want to do... kinda.
