Thread title. I love competitive multiplayer games, and the game mode that's in ME3 is starting to get boring. I would love Bioware to try and make a competitive multiplayer mode that works good.

Thoughts and ideas?

I don't have any ideas, and It will never happen in ME3, but if they implement it well in ME4, then I wouldn't mind. People were skeptical of ME3's Cooperative Multiplayer, but it turned out great.

Basically: BioWARE can add whatever they want, as long as they uphold it to the same standard as they do their Single Player.

Yes of course it would work. It would be like DOTA only with 3rd person perspective and more guns.

Some abilties would require balance though, but I do generally believe it is a good idea for them to consider.

It also doesn't need to be close to "COD". Since when did a game as terrible as call of duty become the benchmark for competitive multiplayer? Oh yeah, it never did, because COD is a bad game for bad people.

I'm cool with PVP multiplayer...

Just as long as I can have one of these...

If they designed the game from the ground up as a pvp game then yes.

It could work, but you'd need to design the game around it. And powers would probably have to be a lot less spectacular than they are presently.

Make it like TF2 or Star Wars: Battlefront. That's the best way to make it work.

Isn't it already competitive? I mean i'm always doing my best to make my e-peen score higher then the PUGs with me, although it isn't the best of competitions it's still seems that way.

It's not competitive if somebody doesn't care about score.

I hope they don't do this... It would be the next step towards making ME the next generic shooter game and that would be really sad.

Like I've said before, check out the mass effect mod for star wars battlefront 2. It's just so epic.... They do it pretty well with the character models, weapons/powers and the overall atmosphere. It has that hectic element that with the suicide mission theme going on in the background and you can come in as shepard and a geth prime as a special unit.

It's pretty amazing. Just look it up on youtube or google and see for yourself.

I'd rather have co-op campaign than pvp (though I'd just play another game like call of duty, halo, gears of war if I wanted to play a pvp game). The balancing would water down the game, and it would probably be more like halo or something.

Basically, if they do bother making a PvP gamemode, it wouldn't be very Mass Effect-ish and I'd rather they put their resources into something better like CO-OP CAMPAIGN (pls biower)

I don't ever want to see Mass Effect go into the PVP field. Unless, of course, they bring back the Mass Effect Team Assault idea and make it a standalone game.

Co-op will always be better than competitive to me.
PVP brings out the worst in people - camping, rage, only using the easiest guns, trash talk in lobbies.

More co-op please.
