get autohotkey (freeware)

and create a .ahk file.

Insert:

#IfWinActive Dragon Age: Origins
Tab::
if (Stroke "{TAB down}")
Stroke := "{TAB down}"
else
Stroke := "{TAB up}"
Send %Stroke%

Now, whenever you punch TAB, it will be permanently on. Next punch will turn it off.
This works perfectly fine wth DA, and since it's only on when you're playing DA:O, you can just have the script on autostart.

Edit: Maybe sb. with webspace can host the .exe version of that script and just post it as MOD or whatever.
If you get the .exe, you don't even need autohotkey.

That didn't work for me >_>

I'm sorry if that doesn't work for you (you're using windows, right?) but it does for me.
Also: You have to run the file before playing DAO. A little green auohotkey symbol should be active in the tray icon area near the clock in the task bar.

The only thing that can be a little annoying is that you have to re-lock TAB occasionally after cutscenes or area changes. Still a lot better than holding it down all the time.

that's a hell lof of trouble for such a small thing! Get an adhesive tape and fix the damn TAB key if you don't want to remap it! =)

you would think! lol
the problem is that during cutscenes and area transition, you need to untape it and press tab again! ><

you need to install the program first then create a txt file, open it then copy the code into it - save and rename the extension to .ahk

move that file near your desktop dragon age icon.
double click on that file before running the game and you will see a green square in your taskbar.
once in game hit the tab key once.

I simply bind it to 'Q'.

It's really easy to hold down both W & Q at the same time, and your ring finger doesn't get tired the way your pinkie does.

I did a similar thing and bound it to 'E', since I use WASD to navigate and it's easy enough to just press 'E' every so often to look for books, things to press, etc.

I, personally, endorse the AutoHotkey method. It works swimmingly.

Poking around old forums. I got the freeware (awesome btw) and typed the code in, got it working up to successfully having TAB "on" without holding it in. It wont turn off again though. I made sure that my syntax is correct. Any help? :S
