Hey everyone, I've finished the trilogy on normal, and the third game on Hardcore. I'm pretty confident I can do Mass effect 2 on Hardcore, but I wanted to because I beat 3 on hardcore and it wasn't much of a difference from normal once you get the hang of certain enemies and what they do, how to take them out, etc. Should just jump straight into Insanity on 2 or get a feel for the diffculty on hardcore first or just YOLO my way through on Insanity? Also, what are the differences in 2 and 3 for diffculty. I keep hearing that ME2 Insanity is harder then ME3 and vice versa.

Any input is appreciated! Peace and Love :alien:

The biggest difference in ME2 from Casual/Normal/Veteran to Harcore/Insanity is that while only elite enemies have defenses (shields, armor, or barriers) on Casual-Veteran, all enemies have defenses on Hardcore/Insanity. This throws a lot of players off, and makes some powers seem useless or underpowered, typically biotics and other crowd-control powers such as Cryo Blast. This means that you must first place an emphasis on stripping defenses using guns or powers first before you can control them with crowd-control powers like biotics,

Enemies will deal more damage on Insanity compared to Hardcore, and their defenses are stronger as well. You may want to start on Hardcore first if you want to get a feel for it, unless you want the Insanity achievement, in which case go right ahead and jump in to Insanity.

For builds, tips, and strategies, check out the Mass Effect 1 & 2 classes, Strategy and Builds Forum. There are a few threads stickieed at the top of that forum, so be sure to check their first to see if any of your questions have been answered.
