Specifically, does the Story file work with any Savegame folder?

Twenty saves in, the Story file for my character is a certain length. Ten saves later, it's longer: more information has been added to that character's Story.

So if I make a backup copy of Save20 and the Story file, could I then reinstall the game andreload from Save20? Or must I have the most recent save (Save30) along with the Story file?


I have more than a hundred saved files, and I'd like to backup a select few. Can I match the current (long) Story file to any of the Savegame folders?
