?

I've had this problem since release. Its annoying. Sometimes I don't feel playing online and just want to fire it up without being on XBL. Why I do have to login to XBL in order to use this DLC? Its the preordered item you get from the EA Store...is this a bug? I have all the rest of the DLC and it checks for it fine when I'm offline...

But if I have the Band of Fire downloaded, it forces me to login to XBL saying "it couldn't find a storage device" for the DLC...works fine when I'm online...

I think this is correct. Look on the Download menu of the game and see if it says "Purchased" or "Downloaded". If it only says Purchased you have to download it to the storage device for offline play. Hope that helps, just taking an educated guess.

I have no clue what the issue might be then. I was only going by what I knew from the Stone Prisoner and Wardens Keep DLC. That was how they worked for me. I do not have the Band of Fire download. Sorry I could not be of more help, maybe someone that does know for certain will see this and answer.

This issue is discussed here:

social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/67/index/172548

Basically, the problem is that one download has multiple licenses and you don't have them all on your box yet. You only get the license for the item you click on when it says "Purchased", even if that changes the other items from that block of data to "Downloaded".

Thanks for the reply switzki...your solution helped at first...then made it worse. I did exactly as your steps said and the Band of Fire was the only one that wasn't truly DRM'd. It showed my points and said "free". Everything else said download again and didn't show points. So, I deleted Band of Fire and dled it again and it worked. I went offline and I could load my save...

However, I wanted to make absolute sure, so I turned my console off. Next thing I know the title screen loads my DLC and says that ALL my DLC is corrupted but when I played it online, it let me load the saves fine. What the heck?

I even took my hard drive to my friend's system and tried it there, same thing. Deleted them all, followed your steps...I still can't play offline. Says all my DLC is corrupted. It would be really appreciated if someone else knows what my problem is, I can't have internet everywhere I go...and I'd like to enjoy the game offline. I can't play my saves without the DLC loaded...and it does work online. Why would it say corrupted offline and not online?

Also...its worth mentioning that all the "corrupted" DLC doesn't show up in the DLC list offline but like I said, everything works fine online. I'm guessing this is still a DRM issue since it works fine online...I don't see what I'm doing wrong, I followed your steps...

These DRM issues are terrible. Its equally as bad Bioware has yet to release a patch for this game...this is not the Bioware I remember from my PC gaming days...any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The solution worked fine for me (and is still working fine, just checked). However, if I have understood how the xbox authentication works trying it on another console will not let you play the DLC offline, you can only download it for offline play for the console you originally downloaded it for. You can play it on other consoles online, but not offline without using the Microsoft tool for changing your licence to another xbox console, and I don't think that is something that should be done without a good reason (RRoD comes to mind). Have you tried contacting the official BioWare/EA support?

No and I did try it on my console with my HDD/license and it still does it. I'm almost 100% sure its a DRM issue because when I play offline and it says they're corrupted, doesn't show in my DLC list. But when I play online, everything is fine, can load the saves and everything is in the DLC list.

In the thread linked above someone had a similar problem as me but nobody answered them.

I just tried Switzki's solution again, step for step and oddly enough it worked...

Maybe it was a DRM issue on my friend's console but I did do it last night like this too on mine and it didn't work. Whatever. Works now! Thanks for the help guys, now I can enjoy the game wherever I go with the DLC.
