Question: Will choosing synthesis make my hearing in my right ear come back? No? Then add something that has Shepard get up from the breath scene for chrissake. How hard can it be?

You know if they did that, about 90% of us whiners would disappear from BSN.

What would remain:Posted Image

But then the rest who continually call us whiners would finally be happy, wouldn't they? They wouldn't have people like us bashing that scene anymore. We wouldn't be here bashing the other two endings because we don't really care about them. I should append my signature: "Buried in rubble since March 22, 2012. Still holding her breath." But what color should it be?

I just think they could throw us a bone on this one without damaging anything.

But then I've got the PC versions now so I don't really care anymore. We discard starbrat altogether, and I can gib the save games. I'd just like to see an official pre-ending scene with Shepard getting out of the rubble. The real ending being the Stargazer scene. LOLz. The epilogue is "buy DLC".

Yep, just what I did.  I just wish it was possible for console owners.  Amazing that fans can create such a simple "custom" ending and generously do it for nothing more than the thanks they get, and BW couldn't do it for money.  Go figure.

They don't want the endings to be so defined and closed. Everyone should have his own version of how things turned out.

Yet, there are questions that only our dear Maybe can answer.
"Will I die tomorrow?" what answer do you want?... It doesn't matter, because there is only one valid answer - Maybe.
So, Maybes are actually answers. Yes, they are. But like them or not - is just your personal decision.

You didn't get the answer you wanted? Sometimes life never give us such answers. So, learn to appreciate the ones you already have, and Maybe you will have more answers in the future.

Hey, how about you stop telling me to learn to appreciate anything, especially when you have continually acted like no one but you knows anything.  If they disagree with you, then they are not as enlightened as you.  You debase and dis-count the experiences others may well have had that has already taught them to appreciate things that you never will.

For instance, I appreciate free will and freedom and heroes.  You've said that none of these things exist and have even said that it might be better if the former two did not exist.  So, don't tell me what to appreciate and accept.  I have had to accept a lot more in my life than you will probably be confronted with if you lived for two centuries.  You tried this with me before and when I tried to explain it and give examples, you called me a liar.  So, please grow up.

The more you resist humility and acceptance - the harder it will be in the end.

The final countdown till the last DLC is already ticking...

Do I look like little Maybe right now? I do... Try to tolerate me, and maybe you will learn how to tolerate Maybe.

I will never take the shiny green pill, no matter how wonderful you make it sound.

Good :)

I hope everyone on BSN will finally understand that Maybe is also valid answer, and story doesn't actually has to have closure. Because the most important part of any story are questions, not answers.

What an abslolute load of crock. That little statement just says you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Most important parts of a BW story are the plot and unquestionably the characters. Closure is extremely important in any entertainment medium... ME3 is like getting to the end of a book only to find the final chapter has been torn out. Honestly I find you to be nothing more then a troll, who actually gets off on the roll you play on this forum and that is well sad.

Well then they should have said that before people bought the series or even just this game.  I don't think that's it at all.  I truly think they just had no real idea how they'd end it and now they are stuck with what they have.  So, they have to try and make it seem mysterious and cool, when it's pitiful and rather juvenile.

A quixotic ending can be great, but not one that is just a gratuitous ambiguous ending.  It's the difference between say, Casablanca's ending and just stopping something before the story ends.  ME3 just feels like someone stopped talking mid-sentence.

And you don't create a rather simple story with some actual rather simple stories within it, and then go all voodoo mysteroius at the end and act as if that's intelligent.  ME is a simple story - it just seems more complex than it is.  It's about a foe, and the question of good and bad (with some confusion as to who is which), a hero, and the people that grow because of that hero.  It's got other stories intertwined-who has the right to "play God", and what can be learned from doing so.  You just don't end this kind of story with a question mark.

Funny, because I seeme to remember Shepard being explicitly dead in every other ending.  Shouldn't we have "our own ersion" of those endings too?

They should have just left the darned breath scene out in the first place, or remove it in the EC. It's a stupid cliffhanger whose existence makes no sense in the closing minutes of the trilogy. Shep gets closure in Synthesis and Control and would have gotten closure if they would not have added the scene.

Control: Memories are uploaded to the Catalyst, forming a new entity that, practically speaking, becomes God.

Synthesis: Jumps into the beam and spreads happiness, love, and joy across the universe.

Destroy: Blows up...or did he????

but this does not fit into seivals world.

questions are the salt of a good story ... but not if they are raised at the ending - an endig is there to END the story .. not keep it warm.

my mom is a big fan of jim morrison and the doors .. she really like the song "when the music is over".

maybe i will follow this advice after the next dlc. this place and the acceptance of borderline-facism makes me sick.

Yeah, I really can't wrap my head around anyone that says some sort of dictatorship is cool by them.  As if there's a dictatorship-lite.

So Dodgeball was on tonight.

Still have problems trying to figure out why a slightly happy ending is bad.

101, it definitely matters. This kind of discussion goes on every day.

Fawx, did we get to pick who lived and died in Dodgeball, who our protagonist was, their morals, what was "right" by them, and to basically shape the galaxy only to find out that we were just a student in the sculpting class and the teacher was infinitely superior, and we could not comprehend their sculptures?

No but it ended with a treasure chest containing FIVE MILLION DOLLARS *insert Dr Evil Face Here* marked as Deus Ex Machina.

That's a win in my book.

Except the other endings were pretty ambiguous when it came to every other aspect aside from Shepard's fate.

We can only guess how the Reaper god thing will turn out and we don't even know what Synthesis specifically did to people.

To be blunt, this is wishful thinking. If I'm pulling numbers out of my ass, and I am, I'd say that the breath scene complaints only account for maybe 10-20% of the ending related threads.

Unless I'm mistaken, Seival once mentioned that Prometheus was their favorite movie. Suddenly that makes a isht-ton more sense than it already did.

The trick is, they will never revist the actual ending (IT/Other theories withstanding). Therefore the best thing to do is give the player one less reason to keep picking at it.

It would be the same concept as the Normandy scene, possibly silly, but it gives the player a better feeling and the aren't as likely to go back and complain about it cause of that. Likely being the key word of course with the Normandy scene.
