Some giant birds would be nice as well. If Flemeth can shapeshift in one, she should have examples to study from, I think?
I would love to see some gryphons, but they are extinct
But I think it would be interesting if you keep the beasts realistic according to the kind of animals that roamed Europe in medieval times, with some touch of fantasy if you want of course

There were lots and lots bare breasted of desire demons, but little else of the other (the sloth demon from the mage origin was one of my favorite creatures).
Basically everything demon that is not some sort of amorphous hose-like thingy (i.e. the rage demon model).
Examples:
- MALE desire demons.
- An army of morbidly obese villagers who have succumbed to a hunger demon.

That just reminded me of The Witcher. If there's one thing that game did well, I think it was just the sheer variety of monsters. I realize vampires are very cliche, but there's a reason for that popularity - they're monsters that are close enough to us that we can relate, not just mindless beasts. The intelligent werewolf storyline was one twist in DA I wasn't expecting for that reason. It forced the player to challenge their preconceptions about what a monster really is. I wouldn't mind seeing vampire-type bosses (NOT of the Twilight variety

Actually, More insects would be cool overall, as they are generally pretty creepy.
I vote for giant Praying Mantis. Those things freak me out even as the small 1inch insects that they are in the real world.

Or casts it's own haste spell to flee quicker!

Actually, I like that idea.
Also, I have an idea. How about instead of the normal everyday dragons you see in Origins, how about dragons that look like the ones depicted in more Asain cultures? Now that would be pretty interesting.

personally I would like to fight more magic using creature. It would give the templars some else to do then just bother good mages.

Vampires!
I was actually starting to wonder where they were in this game. I thought for sure with the werewolves they would have come out...

But if that isn't the way things go, then the Liber Monstrorum is a pretty good resource for monsters: http://members.shaw....lk/Beowulf3.htm But I'm not sure any of them would do for Dragon Age. The Early English Bestiary is good too. Mostly for laughs.
Perhaps some kind of montrosity/mage that set itself up as one of the gods of the elven pantheon, leading on a rebellion? Unfortunately, that would be more of a boss than a candidate for arrow fodder. I wonder if a boggart could be implemented. Always had a soft spot for them. It could be some kind of Fade spirit. Again, they're not good for mooks.
Okay, this post was kind of pointless. But it did make be feel for the devs. Thinking up suitable monsters seems easy until you try it.
ETA: How about humans trapped in the forms of animals? Like the pigs in the Odyssey or Lleu Llaw Gyffes in the Mabinogion. Or like Melicamp the chicken!

But vampires all the way.
The only thing better than a vampire?
A vampire in power armor.

More mythological creatures? Hmmm, can be done, but it's often 'jarring' finding them 'out of place' as it were. Dragons are generic, found everywhere, but chimera?
Actually I'm think chimeracal creatures could be explained by darkspawn (AKA Architech) er "experimentation".
Actually, I was thinking more animals like non-tainted boars. Maybe a mutated version of a deep stalker. And if anyone else hasn't mentioned it: ROUS... definately ROUS.

As they're already mentioned by the lore (as living beings possessed by hunger demons), and thus fit in with everything else pretty snuggly, I'd also like to see vampires. The number of fanged skeletons my characters ran into really whet my appetite in that regard.Few87 wrote...
Vampires!!! Pretty pretty please!!!!
The rage and sloth equivalents would also be worth introducing at some point, I think. Since "fanged skeleton" - as a name - is pretty evocative of vampires in itself, I imagine something that corresponded in a similar fashion to "shambling skeleton" would be on the cards for people possessed by sloth demons.
I'd really like to see the oft-mentioned ghouls show up, too.
And faeries. The really malicious kind. Perhaps desire-demons turned wisps that have managed to claw back some remnant of their former power?
BIG THANKYOU for that, by the way.Rhinna wrote...
