Vampires that sparkle in the sunlight

*ducks*

Seriously though I wouldn't mind seeing more shifters.  While the class itself isn't all that great to play...I like the concept and the Flemith battle is really just a taste of what could be.  Imagine coming across a empty village full of only birds, maybe a few dogs/cats then come to realize it's a hidden village of apostate shifters.

Barbarians.

That swoop down.

Upon us.

And Griffons. Lots of Griffons.

Really though, so far it looks good from the Awakening trailer. New darkspawn, though that might just be special ones right now. New dragons (It is DRAGON Age, after all). I do like the looks of the giant golem at the end there...

I can see why you'd avoid humanoids, though it does remove a lot. I wouldn't say I'm any good at this unless an idea just hits me... Maybe new spirits? Not so great enemies perhaps, but the Fade is a large and strange place.... Still plenty of animals you could try, though then we have to avoid getting a zoo... and giant bugs are a tad, eh....

Speaking of Barbarians, Chasind. We don't get to see many, and for some reason I'm curious.

How about bunnies....?

Bunnies aren't just cute like everybody supposes - they've got those floppy ears and twitchy little noses! And what's with all those carrots? What do they need such good eyesight for anyway?
Bunnies! Bunnies -we should have bunnies!
..... or maybe midgets......

If they included killer bunnies we'd need the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch to destroy it.

I agree with you assessment that I would like Dragon Age - although fantasy, not be "too" high fantasy with rainbows and sparkles and talking beasts.

I'd like to see bosses and creatures similar to the broodmother, in the sense that they have a creepy buildup leading to the fight with them.  That was very well done.  Also think "demogorgon" from Throne of Bhaal.  In my opinion, the more dark/gothic/scary/Diablo I type of feel it has, the better.  Don't ever turn the DA universe into a place where minotaurs, chimeras, and faeries are talking, common, accepted and have their own evolved societies

Oh, how about enemy humans/elves/dwarves on horseback?  Although that may be a pain in the ass from a technical perspective....

Well, I would like to see all demon types - not just the rage, hunger and desire demons.

Maybe some other types of possessed plants, other than trees.

Also, tainted mice would be fun for a side-quest. And I don't recall seeing any ghouls in DA, maybe we can get to fight some of those in the expansion?

Oh, and giant lizards, like komodo dragons, both in natural and tainted varieties

I would like to see the whole demon thing expanded. Possibly to include more types of demons and more types of results of possession.

I do have one idea that maybe frowned on but i think its worth saying. Perhaps a Vampire like abomination that is the result of a desire or other such demon possessing a humanoid. Just a thought xD

Unicorns and ponies and MySpace dot com.

Sorry i couldn't help myself.

But in all serious Unicorns, but there not magical horses, these are horses infected by the Tanint, and have now gone rabid and wild, but with much more strengh and agility.

Snakes. There's always dragons and/or spiders in these kinds of games, but you only rarely see snakes.

More insect-like beasts. Mantises and centipedes. Dragon Age doesn't have that many really scary looking beasts, although I suppose darkspawn and revenants can be.

perhaps i am simple, but I think the most terrifying creature is one that looks like me ;) I mean of course possessed humans, even children. Ones that make you like them, or more perhaps... comfort you when you are sad even.....all the while having nefarious motives *evil grin*

Beyond that, the golem area could be expanded as well -- if there has been a way to have a soul inside of stone, there is a way to create souls inside of other normally inanimate or sentient beings.... that could be creepy if you really think about it...

All that said, i am just starting to read the books so feel free to ignore me -- i just know when i was young, one of the biggest things that scared me were the things that SHOULD be normal, but werent --- a smiling face being a potential kidnapper --- etc. The biggest devils should have beautiful faces after all, its how they draw you in ;) That and it, in theory anyway, should be harder to kill things that look sentient, non?

What about a type of humanoid creature that uses possession as their primary form of magic (life instead of blood magic kinda) -- soul leeches, energy vampires -- selfish pleasure driven creatures that see power from the possession of other creatures - a more old, ancient primal magic than the heady lythium enhanced magics popular now? I wouldnt mind some male driven forms either ( ok, call me a girl ;) ) like the Desire Demons i guess but looking more like a cross of an elf and Ares from Xena kind of character ...

bet ya wish you hadn't asked now :D

Have Basilisks been mentioned? They might be good. From http://monsters.mons...m/basilisk.htm:

"The best representation of the basilisk is found in the decorative field of heraldry where the basilisk had the head and legs of a ****, a snake-like tail, and a body like a bird’s. It seems that the wings could be depicted as either being covered with feathers or scales." [...]

(Lol! The above should have said 'head and legs of a male chicken!' Heh.)

"Regarding his dangerousness rural legends distinguishes three main types. All three had a deadly breath, which could even make rocks crumble.

The golden basilisk poisoned everything by his mere look.
The evil-eye basilisk terrorized and killed every creature by his third eye on the top of a golden head.
The sanguineness basilisk sting made the flesh fall off the bones of his victim "

Shale would really hate these things, huh? ;)

Personally, I have to say I don't want to see a vampire in anything for a long, long time. I loved 'Angel', but it's been done to death since then.

Snakes. Why'd it have to be snakes?

Asps. Very dangerous. You go first.

I was thinking about manticores, too, but they can talk, so I think they contavene the 'no talking beasts' rule....

Can they?

Well if they, by some small teensy tiny chance that they do, add them the manticores could be all bestial and gnawing. They don't have to be super intelligent... Right? Right?

:D

so far i believe everything we faced walk on land, so some sort of flying creature would be nice, and gives your character one more purpose to have a bow equipped in the alternative weapon slot. also amphibious creature like crocodile would be nice too, if there are a lot of water or swamp in certain areas. i don't know if the engine needs to be modified in order to support airborne or underwater creatures though, i feel like if it was possible you guys would have done it. and more animals or insects are always welcomed.

I didn't really think that through. It has a human head, so it could be some kind of abomination/demon, in which case talking would be okay.

@Spitz6860

I agree, like in the Wilds, having some amphibious creatures would be interesting. On that note, it'd be great to see some more terrain-oriented tactical battles.

Well, except for dragons.... ;) I like the idea of some water dwelling monstors, though.

Leeches. Critters that are resistant to and/or can only be killed by a particular damage type.
