I need help with porting my Shepard into SFM!

  Does anyone on here have any experience when it comes to SFM (Source Film Maker), or Gmod? 

I really want to use my OWN Shepard in my SFM and Gmod videos, but I have no idea where to start. I've heard that a program that is called 3DS Max is the program that is used to port characters and models into gmod, but I have no idea how this works. 

Can ANYONE give me some tips?

There are no tips for this unfortunately . To have knowledge of a program as complex and sophisticated as 3D Studio Max is quite rare among the common people. You need to know a lot of things , and programs such as these are not beginner friendly. You can only use them properly under close supervision from a Teacher or someone who finished the courses and graduated. Basically , everything you need to do is complicated and for any action that you require you have to ask someone "how do i do this" .
Because any simple action you would need to do requires about 200 steps in that program ,and they must all be working together or else that little simple thing won't work.
It's easier to learn a programming language than to learn a 3D editing powerful tool as 3DS.
Gmod is really nothing compared to 3ds.
As for a tip , well , you have to break down your Mass Effect game's archives and take the models from there and import them in 3DS on the same matrix used by the game engine to put them back together. and afterwards , export them in formats you can later use in Gmod or other simple programs.
