Friendship, Laughs and the reasons to play ME3

That said, I kind of enjoy the anonymous nature of teamwork in this game. Even without mics, people find ways to support each other through creative use of powers, intuitive combo use, revives, etc.

On the fun meter I give it an 8/10, needs CTF and Instagib.
Oh ya, huge arsenol. That's fun as well, I like most of the weapons.

Now I play a lot to get credits because I really want to max my manifest. I'm a completionist, so I want to get everything done. I also love meeting new people though. I've teamed up with some great people playing this game, and that just makes it soo much funner. I don't care so much when we fail to extract because we have a good time while we're alive.
I haven't made any real connections from this game, but I feel like I've made some good friends. As for fun, I usually have a lot of fun playing this game. I don't play too many different builds right now, but I really enjoy playing my vanilla builds, and that's what matters to me.
Overall, I really enjoy this game and can see myself continuing to play it for a long time.

I play to meet new people, and hang out with the friends i've made across the world.. I tend to meet and play with at least one new person a week.
[*]What has kept you playing this game?
I have gotten new games, but with multiplayer communities in those games being PVP focused or just mostly trolling.. I come back here because SOME of us actually try to work together to achieve our goals
[*]Have you ever made any real connections through it?
I game with some people in the UK, they have become real friends to me in the sense that we are involved in each others lives. Day to day stuff, come up in discussions ... etc. Most of my ME3 friends I have, it all started with a very bad cold and sounding like Hannibal lecter on my part... An the laughs have kept coming for nearly a year now.
[*]What is your "FUN" meter when playing this game? Or better put what do you consider a "FUN" game for you in ME3 Multiplayer? (All answers to this is fine. Even if you are all about score that is cool as well as everyone has their season in this game)
This is a tougher one, because it is always changing as I play this game. There are times where the fun meter for me is being able to "headbutt all things" ... An other times, it's to support my team through a difficulty setting that is out of my element.. An others it is to find a n7 rank lowbie, and give them a positive an fun experience in multiplayer. You hear talk all the time of this community shrinking, or how bad exbawx is... But still, there are people here who reach out an make a connection.... Just to have fun. It's a good community. What makes a game fun for me isn't a simple thing. Sometimes, it's silly stuff. Sometimes, it's the adrenaline rush when you feel challenged or unfortunate circumstances kill others in the match, leaving just you. Mostly, I can say that there are things that I DON'T enjoy: playing Geth, carrying leachers, or playing with people that I think are dicks.
Also, I like bragging about my revive medals.

EDIT: OT: I play because I love the PvE experience BW has created and continued to pour life into. I also love most of the community because many players are RPG nerds and are newer to MP/co-op so they actually use teamwork and socialize rather than play only to pwn n00bs and rock a great k/d ratio.
Great game, still fun. Mostly great people (read:geeks). Forged some nice friendships._only1biggs_ wrote...
firstly, would everyone stop saying, "i COULD care less". you mean to
say, "COULDN'T care less". if you COULD care less about something, that
indicates you CARE about the thing you are showing displeasure toward.
COULDN'T care less. english motherf***ers! sheesh
Thank you for explaining that. It bugs me too, almost as much as your/you're or they're/their/there fails. And I hate grammar ****s so it's almost ironic.
a. it is possible to care less (1-10/10 for care) = some care
b. not possible to care less (0/10 for care) = no care
I knew I should have posted something about a Korean Model then this slight oversight in a mispell would have been overlooked...

Good to have finally gotten a game with you. Too bad the second game lagged out so bad. I wish I was recording it. It would have probably topped my "bigg's connection" video. lol. Need to do it again some time.

Most exhilarating times Ive had gaming are from ME3 When you are getting bum rushed by brutes and banshees in a corner and you start laughing and screaming your ass off.

I play for the camaraderie and team work. It's absolutely refreshing to have a game that you can play with friends or random people and have to be able to work as a team rather than against each other. This is my first multiplayer game I played, and now a whole new world of gaming has been opened up to me. Multiplayer itself has done so much for me. In addition to the friends I've made, and relationships that had developed because of it, it also changed the way I game. I'm much more confident of my ability and can actually handle higher difficulties on games (something I hadn't really done before due to lack of confidence and being a "n00b").
What has kept you playing this game?
Talking with great people over mic, testing out new strategies with characters and weapon kits, my determination to max out my URs (which, I accepted, will never happen no matter how much I play).
Have you ever made any real connections through it?
I met my (now ex) boyfriend on a Mass Effect group on facebook and we chatted for quite a while through xbox live and playing ME3 MP together. We dated for 8 months before it ended up not working out anymore, but even now, I'm dating someone else. He worked at GameStop and I noticed he was wearing an N7 shirt. That started it all. I got him back into multiplayer, and I couldn't be happier.
I've made many friends, including people I have met in person now, through multiplayer as well. Even if some people don't consider it "legitimate" friendship, I do, and that's all that matters. Now, several of my gaming buddies that I met through ME3 MP are forming a guild together for the upcoming console MMO Defiance. We're very excited about that.
What is your "FUN" meter when playing this game? Or better put what do you consider a "FUN" game for you in ME3 Multiplayer?
I have fun when I am helping my team. It brings me joy to help people out who have just started playing and have many questions they'd like answered. In addition to that, I have fun playing with my veteran ME3 MP friends, including weekend challenges with the N7 SPEC OPS group I met through facebook.
When playing with non-N7 SPEC OPS friends, I love to do themed matches, or challenge ourselves in ridiculous ways. Trying out U/U/G with vanilla characters and original weapons is always a fun one.
You make your own multiplayer experience. If you're bored of it, then that is on you. There is plenty to keep you not bored.
That being said, however, it's ALWAYS a good thing when new MP content comes out. That also brings about the fun. The theorizing, the speculation. Then when it's released, the testing and trying out. The learning of new maps and enemies.
Ahhhh, I love you ME3 MP.

I could stand to be more sociable on there though, as I mostly play late at night when my housemate is asleep, so my mic is off and I don't chat (if it was on I would be talking and making noise all the time ). It would be great to come across some friends to play with regularly, as you have described INVADERONE. That's how I play Zombies on Black Ops: good friends and good times. I can only imagine how much fun I would have combining that with this multiplayer.
That would generously fill my fun meter.

also, the only reason you still play this game invader, is so you can hear me swear and curse in strange and amusing ways...
so, why do i still play? because it's a way to waste time aside from tv, movies and books. that and i get to rip on people and not have it taken to heart. like invaderone. who proposed to me last night through song. i accepted. now to find a way to make him not look like Hercule Poirot
OR it can mean that while it is possible that the speaker in question could activly care less about a topic, it would require some form of outside effort.
As I like to say- 'I could care less, but I'd expect to paid.'
Or a variation- I honestly couldn't care less even if you paid me.
no, you're wrong. "could care less" is just a stupid, "new age" idiom. the oxford english dictionary recognizes "could care less" as an american colloquialism, but it's still considered as incorrect, as it makes no logical sense. if you "could care less", it means you care a little bit, as i stated above. what you wrote was moronic, sorry

- What do you play ME3 Multiplayer for?
I started palying the MP just to get my rediness to 100% (actually I was annoyed when I knew that there is multiplayer). Anyway after a few rounds, I could not stop playing. I was playing BF3, Dirt 3, Need For Speed multiplayer at the time. Now I mostly play ME3 multiplayer. The reason is this is a co-op game and we can actually play the game without looking at the scoreboard all the time. In the other multiplayer games, inorder to unlock things or get rewards, you have to score high and this takes away the fun element. Its eveident from the game chat - There is no swearing or hostility(at least in the lobbies that I got into)
- What has kept you playing this game?
Each game is different. You can go into the same map with the same kit; but the other 3 could be coming in with a random kit (I PUG 90% time) which results in a different kind of play style (somtimes it ends up ijn extraction and sometimes an early wipe). Its the varierty of classes that makes it interseting for me. There will be some player who rocks with a class that I thought was crap. PUG games always has that uncertainity as you do not know what your team mates are capable of and victory is not guranteed. And extracting from a PUG always gives me a sense of accomplshment. On the other hand playing with people you know (friends), lets you play more relaxed and experment with 'stupid' loadouts. I like both.
- Have you ever made any real connections through it?
Not really.
- What is your "FUN" meter when playing this game? Or better put what do you consider a "FUN" game for you in ME3 Multiplayer?
As long as all the players try their best I consider it as fun. However I feel uncomfortable if I don't have anything to do - this is what happens when there are 3 other decent+ players. However if the plyers can help each other out, then it becoems more enjoyable for me. I like priming and triggering explosions. If I a PUG game could pass Wave 7 (Gold), I'm ok. And if it gets to Wave 10 I'm happy. I still dont find platinum as FUN - I will get a better manifest and try again later.

Geez I have to give it to HudsonN7 for starting the N7 Spec Ops group. It has so many subs and followers that have met and connected. I started my channel as a way to promote the group as well but I had done it by mistake not realizing they already had a channel it just didnt have the N7SPECOPS name. This is why my channel is named this way. The channel and the group are separate but I have used it to promote the group.
HudsonN7 is having a hard time trying to keep it going as it takes a lot of work and this shouldnt be so much work. He definitely needs the help but as I can see through these stories he has definitely been a vehicle for connections through the N7 Spec Ops group and a big shout out to him for managing it all this time.

Hudson is amazing, and what he has done with N7 SPEC OPS is also amaizng. It's a shame to hear he's having a hard time keeping it going. Tons of great people involved and I have enjoyed every single mission I've done with them.

I started playing it cuz im a huge ME fan and hell MP just makes the exp more complete. Originally with a few friends off other games during the DEMO, some of them have and others haven't continued playing to this day. The reason i still play is well the game is awesome, but i do agree "Score racing" can get a bit old, the constant updates and DLC keep me interested and have wraped a year of gaming up pretty nicely, all in all its one of my fav MP experiences

I just posted on the facebook page to see if I can help. I would not want to take it over though. There is a reason I only promoted our group and never ran it. I am a squad leader but I do know what the coordination of this kind of group takes. Even as a squad leader I was running missions with a lot of people. All fun of course but still a lot of coordination. Hopefully we'll get a group to help out.

What do you play ME3 Multiplayer for?
Enjoyment, relaxation, spending spare time. I also like slowly building up my manifest and working my way to challenges.
What has kept you playing this game?
Heh, funny one. To be honest, I think the fact this game doesn't use text chat and me not using a mic helps a lot with the pugs. I don't have any communication with pugs at all, so I have nobody blaming me, yelling at me, calling me a nub, etcetera. In other games I have bad experience with pugs. Though it's a bad way to make new friends, it's surprisingly relaxing.
Have you ever made any real connections through it?
I've been lurking a group for casual players quite a while, but thanks to a weekend operation that required teamwork, I was forced to stop the lurking and be active, and make some friends to do the operation together. That's quite a good change from the endless pugging I usually do. Still without a mic, but chatting at Origin, it's good to know a few people who are not focussed on the score board, and thanks to those people I started to move up a difficulty (from Bronze to Silver). With them, I don't need to fear to be failing in game, which had prevented me to move up a difficulty in pugs. They told me I can play Gold decently, but yet I wouldn't dare to pug Gold, in fear of 'elitsts' being unhappy with my performance.
What is your "FUN" meter when playing this game? Or better put what do you consider a "FUN" game for you in ME3 Multiplayer?

Ehh its ok. I'd rather go for meaningful than tons of pages of not much of anything. So far every story here has been quite insightful and meaningful. Not bad posters...not bad ME3 community. Props to you all.
