If you mod a save file for Mass Effect 1, do you need to mod it again for Mass Effect 2+3?

There have been reported problems with the modding of save game files. Due to the fact that the utility which you use is not official and therefore not daily updated and patched for the best experience , you get corrupted files in 80% of the cases. I did try it out myself several times but ended up screwing my save game files 
Careful with editing , always back your files up.
The answer to your question is , NO , if you edit your ME1 save game then you do not need to re-edit it in ME2-3. But that's only if everything works fine and you don't get corrupted data.
