I'm pretty much a sucker for card games inside of other games, typically because the winnings actually go to a use after I'm done with the minigame.  (Seriously I think half of my playtime of farcry 3 was poker...)  So I thought for a second how cool it would be if Dragon Age 3 had a Wicked Grace minigame and you could play with your companions and listen to them boast or quip at eachother.  Perhaps add a cheating element that allows the player to cheat or catch your opponent cheating for extra fun.

And if it was available as an online element a whole other realm opens up of playing with your friends and taking their gold for some new drapes for that fancy castle.  :bandit:

I have a suggestion as to who Bioware should get to design and make the deck.

A Wicked Grace playing card deck would be awesome. Especially if it came with the rules.

Not dissing the minigame idea. A minigame would be most excellent.

As long as it's vaguely like poker, I'm all for it being a minigame in DA3. I sometimes miss pazaak, but that bore more of a resemblance to blackjack.

Good for some, not for me. I'm Anders-awful at cards.

Lets have both.  Collectors edition should come with the deck.

As far as I could tell it's pretty much poker but with 5 suits and the angel of death being drawn is what initiates the comparing of hands.

Excellent then! Been so long since I played DA:O that I didn't even remember the rules for Wicked Grace - lol. They should really should have had poker night in ME3 too (I don't know why Vega got to have all the fun with cards :P).

Might as well throw it in. I approve of its inclusion.

I'm down especially if there is companion interaction (things like Isabella cheating or mabari wagging his tail when he has a good hand)

p.s. note names used in the example are just random examples of characters that people would know instead of the currently unknown companions.

Sounds awesome. Maybe a variety of card games though. A lot of people seem to like poker and if the only game they throw in is an equivelant to that, I wouldn't be playing. Give us DA's version of Pazaak! (Which yes, is blackjack, except the limit is 20 instead of 21. Go figure.)

I think it would be so bloody great if you could have a game with your companions and if you suck at it they mock you afterwards in party banter... xD And if you wipe the floor with them they groan and playfully accuse you of cheating.

Dice Poker! The Witcher 1's mini-game was so addicting I kinda forgot about the main-quest xD BioWare needs to rival that!

Personally I wouldn't much care for this, but I can understand the appeal for others.

I have no idea what Wicked Grace is, so the first thing that jumped into my mind reading the title was a minigame about an unstable blood mage.

Wicked Grace and Diamondback are two gambling games Varric mentions to Anders, Fenris, and Isabella. Supposedly Fenris is really good at one of them while Anders is terrible at all of them.

I wouldn't mind a few gambling games thrown in, would make stuff a bit more fun in the end.

You actually get to "play" Wicked Grace a little bit in DA:O with Isabela to learn duelist.  Instead of sleeping with her.  Which is how I guessed it's like poker.

I don't think we have any idea how Diamondback is played though. It could very well be blackjack if we wanted it to be.

If a card game is present, the people you are swindling should only have a finite amount of cash that does not regenerate automatically just be leaving the map. If the most you can win is 10 sovereigns the whole game (or maybe each Act, if they bring back the Act format), then that would be fine with me.
