I actually noticed that they flip more when I am trying to kill them as a host. However when I am not the host they tend to use their bubble of denial more.
What this bubble that allows them to ignore Black Widow headshots?

go at about 1:50 for the phantom DR in action.

"I got on-host Phantom trouble over here" is typically what I'll say...
It's not even worth it to engage them if you don't have a high damage-per-shot weapon. For instance: The Saber on host deals with them handily... the Harrier on host is quite a bit of trouble.

That's what i mean, it looks as though you damaged health while shields are still up and full. I've seen this before.

3 points I found is a bit of a waste. You want 4 for the extra 150% damage or fully maxed out.Beerfish wrote...

That's only for 3 classes though and not everyone is going to want to play an Asari or Volus.Beerfish wrote...
Stasis = who gives a shi* about damage reduction, flipping or anything else.
Agreed but this is in response to the many threads that use those classes with people not specing into stasis at all or only 3 points all the while insisting their method of dealing with Phantoms is easy and fool proof.
I always go for the full bubble because it has a huge margin for error, especially off host if you have a wee bit of lag. With the full bubble I almost never miss and enjoy tossing it at choke points often getting at least 2 enemis and potentially stacking up others behind them. In any case, I took this off topic with my post and don't want to hijack the thread.

Lol, yes that bubble. I have seen this before . The only logical conclusion I can come to is that someone at bioware really loves the phantoms.
- They have bubbles that block all powers which they activate instantly even when they aren't looking at you. Plus it doesn't cost them any barriers to use it.
- They get damage reduction when they move (host).
- Their pew pew shooter can drop a kroguard in no time.
- Their health and shields regenerate.
- Eventhough they don't have armour they can't be cover grabbed.
- They can't be frozen solid.
- They can Insta-kill you with a broken sword

why? because they didn't know it existed.
Anyway, it makes it impossible to kill the phantom with a hitscan weapon that doesn't do gigantic spike damage.
Spike Thrower does that!!

All you can really do to counter it is bring either a GPS, scorpion, or falcon to stagger her in place. I'm pretty there are other weapons out there like the kyrsae but I don't think flicking pebbles is a good idea.
Acolyte + biotic abilities, Shadow Strike, Biotic Charge etc.
Snipers or weapon kits who host are screwed, mind. I usually bring a Scorpion secondary but sometimes I forget.<_<

I counted, in my Plat Solo, 25 Acolyte kills are Phantoms. Because somehow Phantom can dodge a Claymore shot at point blank but not the slow travel projectile.

I won't host Cerberus matches, and if U/U/G drops me into a Cerb match, I stay as far away from Phantoms as possible. I already give them a wide berth with my OG Turians and Batarians, though. Dat magnet sync.
FIFY. I have run into this a lot lately for some reason. Not as ridiculous as the banshees used to be, but still it pulls me into the sync kill from out of the sword's range

The reason phantoms suck for host is because when they do a flip dodge they get 90% DR. Enemies react faster to the host so many weapons will get a lot of their damage blocked.
uhh no. They get the DR as long as they move, period, against the host.
No, they don't. The DR only persists for the period during and shortly after they flip. Try coax a phantom up a ramp on host (they don't flip on ramps if you force them to run up it at an angle) and shoot them. Bingo: no flips and lots of damage.

I get that... but apparently there's inherent DR as host. Doesn't matter if they're doing acrobatics, the host does less damage to them.
