Greetings. I've recently decided to do a full playthrough of this excellent game with a selection of mods installed; last time I didn't use any, so I figured this would be a good time to experiment.
One mod that caught my eye was Improved Atmosphere, which many of you have no doubt heard of. It looks well done, but I'm a little hesitant to use the item changes. I looked at them briefly in the toolset and it seemed like many items got unnecessary stat buffs for no apparent reason, which makes me worry that it would adversely affect the game balance. Do any of you have experience with this mod's Items component, and/or have any opinions on the changes it makes to the game? As mentioned before, I mainly worry about the game becoming too easy or balance issues appearing due to the changes.

The mod makes the characters a little bit too powerful. The game, however, is easy to begin with anyway. Personally, I'm enjoying the item changes as it's good to see new stuff and it makes my characters stand-out with their cool items. Just turn the game on nightmare difficulty if you want. The way I see it, the game is not about difficulty but more on the story...same as Baldur's Gate and Planescape Torment.
