Music for my game was inspired [partly] by the Mass Effect "Synth Feel".

I really love the atmosphere of synths, and the work of Jack Wall and Sam Hulick in the Mass Effect series really (amongst other composers and works) inspired me with the music for my own game.

Given how I know how ME fans love the synth, I thought I would give you guys a sneaky listen.

(WARNING: Although this video itself does not contain objectionable material, I should say that the game I am making is for mature adults - it will [and does] contain a lot of graphic violence, adult themes, sexual references and other material within the story and the gameplay - it will absolutely NOT be suitable for anyone under 18).

What do you think?

Again, it's only inspired, partly by my love of synth from Mass Effect, but the arrangement is supposed to be a lot slower and sadder and draws inspiration from other works too.

Synth really does wonders for atmosphere though, which is why Mass Effect was so impactful I think for many people - at least it was for me.

That was rather relaxing.

My question is, what's the game going to be about? I can't really tell from this video.

Nice,  Would work in most distopian settings.

Particularly enjoyed the old-school parallax scrolling at the beginning.  Is the game itself going to be like the animations in the vid?

Thanks :) yep, although I originally started producing the game at 1080p, but given the pixel art, I can actually reduce that and then resample up to 1080p, so it will look a bit more "legit" pixel-arty but otherwise yes thats the art style you should see in the whole game.

And its going to be free to play either online or as a downloadable exe.

Don't want to give too much away, but it centres around how easy it is to mutilate your soul. Got a bit of that dystopian world to it.

Some cathartic violence and some (hopefully) unsettling moments.

Only going to be a short game, but it will be free too :)
