What they did with Harbinger in ME, we could compare with something like in the Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King they have changed Sauron for one of many ordinary ugly orcs in his army.

I see the original post and header has been edited back to it's original format. Is that a bug with the forum?

is this true, that if you play a non-ME2 save, harbinger isn't even mentioned?

Yup.

But he still comes down at the beam run ?
Or just a generic Sovereign-class Reaper ?
Also, is he mentioned in the Codex with a non-ME2 save ?

Don't remember the exact dialog but its something like this:

ME2 import: Anderson: Several Sovereign-class reapers just broke off the battle, including Harbinger
                    Shepard: Harbinger?

New game: Anderson: Several Sovereign-class reapers just broke off the battle.

SO as far as a new game is concerned, it is just a generic Sovereign-class Reaper.. It may still be Harby, but he is never mentioned by name so we'd never know...

Still complaining about this nearly a year after the game's release = ridiculous or absurd?

No, Harbi has one less leg, the middle. You can see it in the pictures linked in OP.

Nope, its just he is never mentioned by name so that it doesn't go over the heads of newbies. :?

Seriously, now I'm starting to feel sorry for Haraby and his fans for the treatment he received in ME3 :|

I was talking about two cases: Import Shep and newShep. In both cases the model is the same but he is mentioned by name only in ImportSheps..

I don't want to reply with a harsh answer so let me just ask: do you always accept everything that game developer put under your nose even if it is baaaaad in so many ways? Forums exist so we can discuss errors, mistakes, etc. If it weren't we would still have the crap version of the Deception novel. But after some "ridiculous" and "absurd" guys revealed the high amount of retcons, plot holes, lore errors, etc, they've finally changed and fixed the Deception novel (yet it's still the weakest part of the ME novel series... no wonder, it's the first part that hasn't written by Karpyshsyn).

We're doing the same: not for trolling but to help the developers and writers to improve the game. Because it deserves, because for many of us it's not just a simple game, it's a universe that was nearly as strong as Star Wars or Star Trek. And if we stay in silence this nice universe will be trashed...

It's only to make the game as simple and understandable as possilbe to those who had never played the two previous games before... several other dialogues are simplified in the game if you start a new ME3 game campaign without save imports. I played one. It's very different and a lot more simple when it comes to comments about past events and people.

Side note: Is it just me or are there others also who never considered Harbinger being the main antagonist for the trilogy even after playing ME2? I considered it being the Souverign of ME2: a reaper which gave face to the whole reaper armada, and the main antagonist of ME2 (being the overlord of the Collectors). I guessed that it was one of the older ones, but never thought of it as the leader of the armada. I expected a bit more reaper interactions from ME3 but not necessarily more Harbinger.

And when people incorrectly use "artistic integrity" to throw insults at us, it gets the thread closed.
