The ME1 inventory was better executed on PC than on console, so playing it on PC ain't so bad. My favorite is Mass Effect 2 however, as it was the best mix between good tactical action, excellent dialogue, updated visuals, interesting side quests (I still find new stuff to do on planets even now) and the way that your decisions throughout the entire game had an impact on the end.
I was practically ****ting my pants the first time through the suicide mission, as i had no idea whether i had done enough, whether there was any more i could of done. My first run through, even though i didn't do Legions loyalty mission and i did Tali's, Tali didn't make it. I was horrified, and i had no idea what the hell happened. What did i do wrong? What could i have done better?
ME1 and ME3 did absolutely nothing to make me feel like it was my fault that i failed. In ME2 i could always see what
I did that lead to critical mission failure. I loved how it was difficult but not entirely frustrating like ME3 is in MP (SP is an absolute cakewalk however). Could it have been improved? Certainly, but definitely not by ME3's definition of "improvement".
ME1 will always be special, it introduced me to this fantastic universe. ME2 merely expanded it, and ME3 pissed all over it.
I'm not an "RPG fan", i'm a Mass Effect fan.
