[Caldari Ghost]

wow..... and I have just started my first playthrough of mass effect 2 with zaeed. have never had a game with him before. He was already becoming my favorite teammate. I've been taking him on literally EVERY mission, including grunt's "adulthood test", saving garrus with him, fighting for freedom's progress, fighting through the illium tower to catch thane, and through the collector ship so far.

I love it when he says "Sit down!". He said that to an asari vanguard that was standing right in front of him but he said that quote and gave her a concussive shot.
He even said that to weyrlock's krogan thugs.

But nothing gets me like hearing him say that to a Collector.
It's all on insanity as well.

I love that guy.

I'm guessing it's less about being mad and more about being shocked that somebody could be so insensitive about something like this. Thread wasn't about if you liked Zaeed or not, it was to pay tribute to his voice actor who just passed away. Have some respect.

Except they're not honoring the VA, they're honoring one cookie-cutter side character he voiced. When I die, I sure as hell wouldn't want someone saying "Oh he played ME3, we should all play ME3 to honor him" because playing ME3 isn't what I want to be remembered for.

Not all of us can show up for his burial, so people invent other means to pay respect. And frankly, the fewest in here ever know more about Robin Sachs than him being Zaeeds voice actor. So how could they grieve for a man they never knew? Instead they can grieve through that which connects them to this man, in this case the character of Zaeed.

People die every second of every day. People you may not know or have only met in passing. Do you greive for them too, saying "Oh I saw him on the street one day"?

I'm not an insensitive ass, like some people believe. I'm sure it is a tragedy for his friends and family, and I am truly sorry for them. I think what you did, Neofelis, is more appropriate. A moment of silence. But honoring a character that isn't real just because someone did some voice work is disrespectful to that voice actor. It would be like you dying and people saying at your funeral "He was a BSN poster so let's start a thread in his memory which will probably be locked because it's not MP related".

you have a good point, but you forget one thing: Those strangers haven't impacted neofelis the way Robin did. big difference.

Nerd solace: in this universe, he's died. But in a hypothesized multiverse, where every possible outcome to every possible event is actualized in its own reality, spawning alternate timelines ad infinitum, he's still doing what he do in in infinitude of parallel realities. He only lost the game of 'quantum Russian roulette' from our perspective; from certain other POVs, he's still in the game

And from a buddhist perspective, dying isn't sad. It's part of a natural order that is basically good, so it's good in its own way. It's just another change that reminds us we're still alive, and reminds us of the opportunity to live well. Better than living forever, suffering and stagnating, growing bored with life until one wishes for death.

I hope whatever family and friends he had are well, though.
