Then I suppose you can write something better?
I'd be willing to read it if you're willing to share it.
I suppose you could create a better character than Zaeed Massani!?!?!?

Alright kira whatever. I get your point, but not everybody feels the way you do. Give it up, you're not fighting a winning battle.
Also, sachs was the voice of the mayor of that one town in da origins
I'm not fighting a battle at all. Everyone else seems to want to fight me, though.
But if that is what it takes to make the blade of humanity stronger then I shall become a whetstone for that blade.

I'm actually in the process of doing just that. Several characters, actually.
Anyone can make one just as good. Look at Sasuke from Naruto.
Sasuke: My brother killed my family so I'm going to hunt him down and kill him.
Zaeed: My partner stole my organization so I'm going to hunt him down and kill him.
See what I mean? It's the same cookie-cutter revenge seeker character that has been repeated continuously for years.
But in defense of Sachs, it wasn't him that made the character, it was Bioware.

It may be corny, but I'd like to see a Zaeed based operation to honor him.
Operation Jessie
Score X amount of points with the Avenger.
Reward: Big Goddamned Hero title with accompanying Zaeed based banner.

Use BF soldier, and use Carnage only. And he has Carnage instead of conc. shot, not inferno nades, Zaeed did have inferno nades though. And to the OT, sad news, I'm going to go kill some Cerberus punks with Jesse in his memory.manbearpig654 wrote...

I will honor him the only way I know how. Blood and carnage. It's what he would have wanted.
Can't decide between BF or OG human soldier. One has conc shot and the other inferno grenades. Just need to slap on a AR and SR with disruptor rounds.

Id rather punch myself in the face multiple times than watch that.
Even better, I would rather read your ****** poor poetry than watch that. And that is deadly.

His voice was one of the more memorable ones in ME2. Time to dust my Avenger and kill some stuff with it.

each character that a actor/actress makes and lends their voice to that said character is deep, deep belief and it is very deep part of the person much as their own character counterparts. in a sense, Robin Sachs is very much alive as Zaeed Massani. but his body may be forgotten or erased, but the spirit of him will live on forever through his characters.
so speaking from my view, when i play or work with Zaeed, i feel like he's alive and is with me. i can actually interact with Zaeed on his opinions, views etc etc. that's exactly the point that most of players have that relationship with said characters.
i even like Legion, Liara, Miranda, David, Ashley and rest of the crew because i feel at home with those characters.

Aw, he was Ethan in Buffy. Didn't think I knew who he was based on Zaeed's voice. Testament to a great actor. RIP.
Me, too. Didn't even recognize his voice in ME. Even if some of the writing was sub-par, he still gave a consistent, top-notch performance that I was always impressed with.

No, I think I have a pretty good handle on what humanity is.
Honestly, I'm not really interested in a discussion with you, but I have to congratulate you on one thing.
What I quoted was the single most condescending thing I have read in a long, LONG time. And I frequent SomethingAwful, so that's saying a lot.
Now I'll excuse myself, I don't want this thread derailed any more than it's already been. I've got a Turian cruiser to bring down.

seems little much for a free DLC character that you couldn't even have a relationship with. i mean, at some point everyone who's been in mass effects is going to die, we have Operations for all them too? shouldn't we be more selective in who OPs are done for? what about the chick that voiced the oft used "I will destroy you!" from ME1? it's possible she's already dead for all we know.

Kira. Just stop. Please?
Point # 1: What you just described is an archetype, trope, call it what you will. There are countless others that are littered across all of media and literature. Zaeed is hardly the first, nor will he be the last.
Point # 2: Pretty sure most folks here only know of the voice actor through his work on BioWare characters. And since this is the Mass Effect forums, I assume they probably only know him through Zaeed's voice. Therefore, it is perfectly fine - in my opinion - for folks to do a little "remembrance" match using a character they feel fits the one and only thing that connected them to this man.
Point # 3: If Point # 2 doesn't actually hurt anybody or anything, then what damn difference does it make anyway?
Whether you are right or not isn't the point. The point is that folks are wanting to do a little something in memory of someone who has passed. There is nothing wrong with that as it hurts no one. Just let it go.
