First and foremost: Moderators. I know this is a repeat thread from the General Discussion but not everyone visits both boards. I'm also going to make this related to ME3 story and spoilers also, so it's necessary to be posted here as well.

Now if you haven't seen it in the General Discussion, the lovely St. Elmo made a thread suggesting everyone change their avatars to Zaeed Massani in honour and memory of the late Robin Sachs. I'm not only spreading the word here as I think it would be a great way to pay tribute to a wondeful talent and (from what I've read) a wonderful person also. But I think it would also be a great way to show the BSN's true spirit as well, a wonderful homage and a special kind of phenomenon if we got enough people on board with this.

I'm also not sure if you're aware but today (the 5th) was actually his birthday also.

So I (and St. Elmo) propose that we honour him as best we can for at least the next 24 hours by all displaying Zaeed avatars (I'm looking at you too, moderators!)

To make this related to the board I would also ask that people post in this thread what they liked most about Zaeed's character; what made him click or resonate with you so well?

___________________________________

For me, it was because he was so different from any other characters.. He was Mass Effect's first real "hardass". He also had an accent that could kill, in itself. Very intimidating and very unique.
Despite me being a true paragon I could never resist getting to Vido in his loyalty mission in ME2 no matter the consequences. And this was mostly due to his intimidating nature.. Which is a massive credit to Robin's work.

So naturally when I heard his voice again in ME3 on the mission with Din Korlack, I was filled with conflicting emotions from excitement to nervousness. Excitement about him just being in the game, but nervous because I seriously wondered whether he would bother waiting it out until I got to the right room. Luckily he had some faith as I took a fair while to find the correct room on my first time around lol.

So how about you?

PS: Full credit goes to St. Elmo for this wonderful homage.

EDIT: For anyone without a registered copy of Mass Effect 2, here are some custom images you can use to upload a picture of Zaeed, thanks to Bill Casey for the links!

I once took a team into the spoiler forums after the ME3 ending hit. I was the only one to make it out alive.

If someone can help me figure out why my ME2 code won't register, I'll oblige.

Zaeed's stories were always awesome. Especially the one about Jessie. When I checked Liara's terminal and saw he bought a repair kit for that ****ty old rifle, I wanted to see him go to work again. Ah...what could have been...

I can't say I was ever a big fan of Zaeed. Not like some other characters.

One thing I did like about Zaeed was that end scene during his loyalty mission (if you choose to save refinery). Even in the face of death (almost), he was going to remain defiant to the end; no matter what.

Thank the Maker for dem paragon points.

The very day I decide to switch to a Zaeed avatar just happens to be the same day his VA dies :crying:

Contact EA support via the answer HQ on the right of your page. IIRC they have a 24 hour support chat that you can initiate in which they can manually add the ME2 codes.

I had the same problem with my ME2 code and my Dragon Age Origins codes.

I once walked into a forum full of Zaeeds. Zaeed was the only one to make it out alive.

I bet DoodlyDangus is peeing his pants right now...

One Zaeed is enough to fear for your own life, but a whole forum full?

Chances of survival, zero.

I always loved Zaeed. Took him on every mission in ME2. And afterwards, I'd go to the lower deck and listen to some stories... thanks, Mr. Zachs.

I know many people write Zaeed off as too dumb/clichée. But I dare you to try it, to take him with you on some of the priority missions. IMO contrary to other, lot more popular characters, his remarks and comments really reflect his reason through experience, and his age in general. (No, it's not "shooty-shooty-kill-kill, grab all their money") He happens to be the ONLY character whose comments never annoyed me, and in fact showed me other ways many times.

My point being, he get's intellectually underestimated very much. I think most people never cared to find out how he's actually one of the best written characters of the main cast.

Experience > Intelligence, that's what made him so unique. Anyone who calls him a cliche or dumb character simply just doesn't understand the character they are mocking.

I'm guessing that was his voice actor? If so, what happened to him, when did he die? This is the first I've heard about it. :(

He died four days ago, was found today. No reason was disclosed thus far.

Still, tragic no matter how you slice it, he would have been 62 today as well.
