The Hornet is Terribad

(Having said that, it's a tragedy we don't have a P90 expy in this game. Unless the Locust is supposed to be a Frankenstein's monster between that and I guess an MP5, then it's still a tragedy.)

The Hurricane is superior for obvious reasons, but honestly, to claim the Shuriken and Locust can even pretend to be better than the Hornet? Really?
I have yet to try the Collector SMG. Hopefully it's good.

Ah, but you must consider base damage as well. If the two had the same base damage, you'd be right, but they don't.Chi_Mangetsu wrote...
Locust is actually provably better, at least for headshots (x3 vs. x2.5). Sorry, bub.

Can't wait until they release BP Punisher. We'll finally have another useful SMG to play with!

Mitigated by muzzle-jump competence, of course.Variasaber wrote...

Seriously, they need to release some kind of DLC very soon, because BSN is pretty much a broken record right now.

The Hornet's muzzle climb is no issue at all if you use the recoil compensator mod or put it on a Turian. The Hornet shines when you can land consistent headshots.Chi_Mangetsu wrote...

whole lotta punch to begin with but on top of that i can honestly say that its more of a side arm then
a main weapon, when it comes to a weapon build.
So if your using it on a destroyer (Gold/Plat.) as your main gun well you shouldnt and you should be ashamed of yourself and you probally shouldnt even be playing this game to begin with.
Not saying you cant make it work but if you come on here after and complain about it, then
its about time you stopped eating the noob-cake.
You use it on casters and you ***shoot troops in the face*** with it, anything outside of this and you may find yourself posting a needless complaint about the gun. What you said about the headshot damage on gold is way off your probally missing or using some crap build with the gun.
Fact is your doing it wrong because i know what that gun can do to a normal troops head on gold.
Seriously its getting old ppl need to stop complaining about a gun just because you dont know how to use it properly and dont tell me you do cause if you did you wouldnt be on here complaining about it and i wouldnt be here telling you other wise. But instead your gonna come in here and make yourself look like a noob who cant even make good use of a simple weapon like the hornet.
Every gun isnt meant to be perfect which im sure youll say something along the lines of i know that but yet here you are posting the complete opposite.
Lastly you didnt even really explain whats wrong with the gun except for the damage.
So for all i know your crying about the damage cause it cant drop an atlas like a hurricane.
Which its not meant to as im sure your aware.
So key word here is: "Burst-Fire SMG"
Learn it, Understand it, Respect it.

In all seriousness, while I'll defend the Hornet as not as terrible as it seems, it could use a damage buff.
It is not as bad as people here make it out to be. As long as you can control recoil, it gets the job done on mooks. Don't bother killing bosses with it.

As a shinies hoarder, I don't like it very much, but it can be useful if you're willing to spend consumables. However, the tempest, locust, and GSMG can also be made gold primary-viable (to varying degrees of effectiveness) with the same consumables, and don't wear down my controller as much in the process.
All in all, there are just too many other guns I would take over the hornet. I enjoy using pistols considerably more than SMGs in general, though.

Learn to land headshots, and recoil compensate and/or use a Turian and/or use a recoil damper mod.Flambrose wrote...
It's a garbage gun. Not accurate enough and too much recoil for its damage. Burst-fire means it cannot benefit from RoF bonuses as well. I'll take tempest over it any day.

As for the Hurricane, not in terms of weight.Flambrose wrote...
^^ You can say that all you want, but with the same amount of effort a Hurricane I or CSMG will always outclass it.
I can't speak for the CSMG though, I haven't unlocked it yet.
