After reading a lot of the replies in this thread, I just have to say, "OH MAN! How DARE BioWare allow a bunch of children among thousands and thousands of players within this voluntary community to try to find a way to break the rules and bend the system so they can max out their manifests faster!"
Yes. Because it's obviously BioWare's fault that people want to cheat.

On another note, I haven't played much since the patch, so I haven't seen it since, but before the patch I'd probably seen about 4 or 5 missile glitchers total. If I ever did see it, it was on either Rio/Platinum or FBW/Platinum. I still avoid Platinum PUG's because of this. If I see one I'll definitely be reporting it - children like this ruin the game, honestly.

Queueing for Plat on Xbox you get 60% Rio, 40% missile glitch matches. The missile glitchers means newbies are happy to queue for Plat and are reticent to ever leave the group if you try to kick them and the third doesn't. It makes queuing for it awful. Much worse if you're Billy no-mates like me and play mostly PUGs.

Page 4 and Eric's on the case! Maybe we'll get more info when he's looked into it ;-)

I can honestly say I haven't seen anyone glitching yet on PC. I've seen a couple of load outs that looked as if they were prepping for it but I haven't seen anyone do it.

This is why I dont do plat pugs. I havent seen a missle glitcher on gold since plat came out so gold is pretty safe.

No link on "how" however there is a board of people discussing removing the patch files, runing through a proxy and doing it.

http://www.nextgenup...lete-proxy.html

My best guess is much like the last time it was "fixed" those that know are going to be *very* hush hush about how they are pulling it off so it doesn't get patched again for quite some time.

^Undoing the patch for a private game is certainly feasible, and nothing BioWare can do about that. Just like FBWGG farming. However it should not affect people searching for PUGs who have the patch.

Is it not high time the cobra missile launcher became a hit scan weapon?

Yes, it wouldn't make much sense, but wouldn't it fix this problem once and for all if the cobra missile launcher was no longer charge up and no longer a projectile weapon at the same time?

It'd be a small buff to other players ( hitscan missile would be just as good as it ever was) and would fix this nonsense for good, if indeed it is back....

Changing the Cobra so it is hit scan would prevent whatever "problem" causes the projectile weapons to be duped into doing cobra esque damage / AoE... if I'm right in thinking that the glitch solely exists around projectile mechanics?

I am not in favour necessarily of having 0 charge up weapons, but I am in favour of a no-charge up cobra. Hit scan cobra would make this impossible, surely?

Yeah this method isn't a huge concern because they can't pollute PUG matches, not that it's condoned.

If anyone finds a link to instructions on how to do a new missile glitch or a video, please message me privately.

People queuing for Plat have the same old combos (Striker/Geth Plasma Shotgun is most common) so I assume it's the same method as before.

I can name the guy I saw doing it; I haven't gotten round to emailing the ban people yet.

Oh noes it's back, bumped into a group of guys doing it on PS3 so I left <_<

Edit: I believe an indirect approach maybe the best comprimise to be honest...it seems whenever Bioware tries to directly patch it, it isn't long until another method is discovered. I'd like to see Bioware to remove the charge function from all the related weapons (Acolyte, Arc Pistol, Geth Plasma Shotgun, Graal Spike Thrower, Kishock Harpoon Gun). I know a lot of people may disagree, but it's an option that would atleast work even if it is 'temporary'. It actually may reintroduce some weapons with some flare, e.g. I'd like a chargeless Arc Pistol. Just give the correct firing delay etc. ^_^

Interesting that PUG pollution was BW's chief concern. So while private lobby glitching was never condoned, it was never a huge concern.

Remove the missiles completely via DLC and replace them with cool heavy weapons like Geth Spitfire, Blackstorm Singularity and similar.

People have also suggested making the ML hit scan.

If it was hit scan, and dealt X damage to everything within Y meters of the hitscan location, wouldn't that be enough to break whatever bugged synergy that the missile launcher (being projectile) and the other projectile weapons have?

Heavy weapons for MP is a great idea, replacing the Cobra is not.

Or how about replacing the missiles launcher with special grenades that do the same damage (maybe across a larger radius to account for inaccurate throws)?

It would look and behave REALLY weird and not at all like a missile.

10:1 odds it would result in being able to use any/all hitscan weapons to missile glitch instead of just limiting it to projectile weapons.

Missiles are a cheat anyway. I rather have no missiles and better/more fair enemies than cheap stunlock and "I Win" button

There's a video in French from yesterday of some guys showing off the method involving a charged weapon.

I just saw this video.  It's definitely back.  Couple days from now I expect platinum pugs to be as it was before.  lol.

This is a war you have lost bioware.  Hopefully, you guys can learn from it for ME4.

Yeah, but it would fix the glitch once and for all, if indeed the glitch is tied to projectile weapon code.

And yes, I also would support the removal of missiles. IMO, enemies wouldn't even need nerfed, removing the iWin button is actually an idea that I support.

Am I right in assuming that it's impossible to make a hit scan weapon act like a missile launcher using the glitch? Because if its only projectile weapons that can act like the ML when glitching, perhaps changing the ML to hit scan (however weird it would seem / look) maybe would fix it once and for all.

That video, while new, is of the old method. It was uploaded on Feb 4th(1 day before Acolyte reverted back to charge). That method no longer works. So for now, we can only go off OP's word until someone else runs into and gets proof.

Currently impossible, but what if the only reason it is tied to explosive projectiles is because the ML is an explosive projectile? My unfounded worry would be that the coding is inherent to something else with the ML and that turning the ML into a hitscan weapon would then tie to the glitch to all other hitscan weapons.
