I recently completed Mass Effect and will import the character into ME 2.

The question is what are some advisable builds for an Agent-Infiltrator with Dominate as the bonus/loyalty talent?

I will get the Widow sniper rifle and focus on sniper rifles with (probably) SMG backup. Also, I would generally prefer to avoid the Cyro ammo skill unless some specific factor makes it hard to resist.

Difficulty will be on normal most of the time.

If there is some issue with Dominate I will reconsider, but it seems to be the most interesting of the bonus talents to me.  I like turning opponents into allies.

I will put one point into AI hacking, but most of the material I have read suggests that the skill is questionable and very situational.  I like the idea of this skill though.

If this is your first playthrough, then Dominate will be unavailable until you unlock it as a bonus power. To unlock it, you need to choose Morinth over Samara on Samara's loyalty mission. So I recommend saving your game before attempting to complete the mission (saving while still in the Afterlife VIP section is recommended), then create a NEW save after you chooose Morinth to make sure Dominate stays unlocked. You can then go back to your earlier save and choose Samara. Note that you need enough Paragon or Renegade points to be able to choose between the two Asari; if you do not have enough, then Samara kills Morinth.

If you have already played the game and unlocked Dominate before, then ignore the previous paragraph and continue reading.

I prefer Dominate on an Engineer myself (more crowd-control options), but here is what I would probably use:

4 - Heavy Disruptor Ammo (since you plan to use the Widow) *
0 - Cryo Ammo
4 - Assassination Cloak
4 - Incineration Blast
1 - AI Hacking
4 - Agent
4 - Enhanced Dominate

For Synthetic-Heavy missions, I would spec out of Dominate (it only works on organics) and put the points into AI Hacking instead:
4 - Squad Disruptor Ammo (for increased crowd control with squadmates) *
1 - Cryo Ammo (leftover point)
4 - Assassination Cloak
4 - Incineration Blast
4 - Improved AI Hacking
4 - Agent
0 - Dominate

* I prefer Squad Disruptor Ammo myself since Heavy Disruptor Ammo will cause synthetics to explode which is bad if they are right next to you. However, since you are playing on Normal, it may not be too bad. I am not sure if Heavy Disruptor Ammo is required to one-shot shielded enemies on Normal. If you can one-shot shielded enemies with Squad, I would go with that instead since it will give your squadmates more potential crowd control.

AI Hacking is great skill. Most consider it situational since you will face synthetics on every mission. There are few synthetics pre-Horizon, but more appear after Horizon. There are no synthetics on Collector missions. Look up the "AI Hacking hilarity" thread for more info on AI Hacking.

You could also try a something like:
1 - Disruptor Ammo
0 - Cryo Ammo
4 - Assassination Cloak
4 - Incineration Blast
4 - Improved AI Hacking
4 - Agent
4 - Enhanced Dominate
But that is probably not recommended if you are using the Widow like you plan to.

Interesting.

This will be my first ME 2 playthrough so I cannot start with Dominate.

Edit:  Your note about the Engineer encouraged me to reconsidered the class issue.  I have now decided that I will try an Engineer (Mechanic type) with Dominate.

I read your Puppet Master Engineer thread, RedCaesar97. That fits very well with the type of character I want to make. This should be very interesting.. :)

However, I will keep the ideas in this thread in mind for any Infiltrator runs.

Interestingly, if I wanted a more "agent" style, I probably would run Viper instead of Widow, and I would go Squad Cryo ammo, two things you don't want to use according to the first post. :)

In any case, Incinerate is the most useful of any Infiltrator abilities early game (with perhaps the exception of a couple potential bonus powers), so at the least make sure you have 1 pt in it before trying to level everything else up.
