Platnium Gameplay. Kicking is lame and has plat always been slow paced?

While you can certainly be a competent player at N720, you are probably NOT, and have had an extremely limited, myopic MP experience.

- My 2nd conclusion i want to get your opinons on. I personally feel that the act of elites kicking people out from Plat lobbies is also lame. It only proves that they're insecure. If you're insecure, why get your N7 ranking up and tell the world about your skills through challenge points? While that may not be fake but clearly you're a poser. I'm talking like this because i was trolled in one of the lobby yesterday where these 3000+ challenge point users immediately switched to Bronze level after i joined the lobby. I trolled them back by getting my hand on the 1st delivery and never finished. I wouldn't call these people elites. Challenge points and N7 level doesn't mean jack to me. To me Elites are players who get **** done given any variables. Also, it's a team game.
First, I'm not sure why they kicked you. Maybe they felt like they weren't good enough to finish the match without a stacked team. If they switched to Bronze like that they were jerks. But, make sure you have some equipment on or you're getting kicked from my lobbies. I will help you out so you can get better or earn credits, but I'm not the Slavation Army - no charity. I played with someone with a GPSh 3 (who did fine btw) a few nights ago and he didn't get kicked because he put on some equipment. I've also kicked someone with a Harrier 7 because they readied up and didn't even put gear on.
Second, my challenge points are as high as they are because I, wait for it..... like doing challenges. The game was getting stale for me and I'm thrilled that the challenges are here. And I like to promote sometimes because it's fun to start a class fresh. Am I a poser?
Third, holding the package like that is griefing and is bannable. I wouldn't do that again, and I certainly wouldn't brag about it on the forums.

Charisma up, leaders.
Yup, good players can certainly pull off a Plat game with one team mate being just dead weight. But why should they feel obliged to play the game that way? If they accept the fact that a player with overall sub-standard equipment will most likely not contribute as much to the team effort - that 's just fine. But I don't see how that triggers your expectation that they HAVE to carry you through that game...
Also - there's probably more than one definition of "team effort". Mine is: Everybody pulls their weight. Yours seems to be: I don't care that I might be a liability, the other guys should cover for me.

The first night we got a TGI with a Widow I and a CSMG, N7 of 73. Fully equipped with level 3 consumables, we figured we'd take a chance. He was OK, but didn't really kill anything. Scored 60k, had an assists medal while the rest of us romped through. But whatever, he had consumables and armoured compartments on, maybe was a console vet starting over on PC.
Last night we were sat in lobby for a while. One guy came on and readied up with NO consumables. Insta kick. He came and went a few times. Then we got bored and figured we'd 3-man it. Last second, a level 12 kroguard with a Locust V joins...I kid you not. Not even any gun mods. No consumables. We can´t be bother kicking as the timer was already kicking down, so we play on. He dies...a lot. Doesn't score much. Occasionally detonates a FE with Carnage (yeah Kroguard with Locust spec'd into Carnage...). We extract pretty smoothly, but he's a decoy for the three of us. We play twice more (he was a level 14 Fury, and a level 18 Hsol with Mattock), and he's consistently in the 40-60k range while we're around 150-200k. So he leeched, I guess. I mean, we probably should've kicked him after the first game, but we were essentially 3-manning it anyway, and kicking feels so mean. N7 123 or something. Hope he enjoyed the half-mil in cred he raked in for doing sweet f*ck all. My only rule during the games were not to rez him if it looked dangerous to do so.
Basically, players who don't belong in Plat probably get carried by decent lobbies that give them a false sense of security about their skill levels which leads to threads like this. I'm part of the problem, mea culpa.

That the op is a poser is obvious. He claims in a early post that he had already once level 4 consumables. Well, you don't get level 4 consumables before you have maxed out ur rares. The max. u get is lvl. 3 until u have maxed out ur rares.
Seriously????? I didn't know that!!! My rare weapons aren't maxed either, but I've had 2-3 lvl 4 equipment
drops......

I don't care if he has an Avenger III as long as he's bringing Armored Compartments V.

I lol'd. A lot. Dude, just give it up. I don't know just what you're trying to prove. First off, even my grandma can score 120k with the Fury. She's totally got it. Now, I just looked at your manifest, and though I'm not an elitist, I can tell you don't have what it takes. You might be skilled, I'm not saying otherwise, but a N7 60 means you haven't even touched 3 of your classes. I have no problem with 120's since they well might just never promoted despite having been playing the game since day one.IWC3714A wrote...
OMG Neo, i stopped reading at most of us started gold when you have at least a maxed out rare.
I topped a U/U/G with 120k with a N7 Fury Lvl 20, Acolyte III, N7 Lvl. 60, that's why i moved to plat.
Like i said, it takes longer for some
Plus, it's not that Platinum --not Platnium, just saying-- it's too hard, it's just that most of the enemies spawned are armored bosses and taking them out with low level rares just takes so much time. I'm not saying it can't be done, I myself allow newbies in my Gold PUGs all the time, but spending more than 35 minutes in a Plat match is just no fun. At all. A skilled player can hold their own with low level rares (like yours) but they won't be of much help since their DPS just won't be up to the team's. It can't possibly be. You'll spend more time running away from Banshees/Phantoms/Primes/Brutes/Scions/Praetorians/Atlases because your DPS won't be able to take them out before they get deadly close.
I'm not trying to make you feel bad about yourself or incompetent at all, but you have to be aware that unless you score above 80k on a Set/Set/Platinum you're not pulling your own weight. It took me 700+ games to even think of trying Platinum, and will only do it with Gold hardened players with heavy hitting weapons and level III or IV equipment. Won't risk 30 minutes and consumables for less than that.

Please can some respected BSN-er get to lobby with him and test his skills? I'm very interested in results...
I thought about doing this, but decided against it. Playing with high tier players is the worst way to judge skill. All the mistakes that would normally get you killed are mostly mitigated by team mates that know how to handle every situation. Last thing I want to do is take this guy into a lobby with the PS3 Alliance Hazard Force and give him an ego boost with an easy plat run.
^absolutely true!
If he's such a great player, how come I don't see any solo games on his manifest? At least bronze and silver. If he can do the 2 gold solos, then I might call him a good player.
By the way: I did not succeed in a gold solo yet, and my N7 is 3763 - but am too nervous and make too many mistakes when playing solo. Call myself an experienced but mediocre player ;-) Though I did some platinum runs with friends and PUGs already, even if not many.

btw, doing solos hardly qualifies a good player. With a large enough map, and patience, a decent player who knows the enemies can complete a solo.
Try sub-20 minute solo run... that is worthy of skill review

Try sub-20 minute solo run... that is worthy of skill reviewnow I feel like an utter and complete failure... I agree that even low N7s can do solo's, but for a gold solo you have to keep running a lot, even with good equipment, to avoid getting insta-killed. It seems I am not fit for it. Always fail on wave 10 Gold solo latest.
lol. I in no way wanted to take anything away from someone trying to solo. If you are making it to wave 10 on gold, you probably have the know-how to complete it.
What my overall point was: Don't judge a player's skill by their ability to solo. There is a cap, to where all it takes is some patience.

I played with low N7's on silver and gold games, and have no problem carrying them, but in platinum without the appropriate weapons and equipment, it is simply too high a risk. Since the OP has obviously a high regard of his own skills, I wondered how much of his success depends on him and how much on using his teammates as a crutch. Hence my idea of a solo.
Still, I would give him a chance and play with him to see first hand how he handles himself. Gamertag is maloo78... add me if you want, and we give it a try.

2) I generally won't kick people from the first game (everyone deserves one chance) but if they are just leeching or are in fact just slowing me down (trust me, it happens). Then I will kick. Though as I said most of my kicks don't come from not wanting to play with them. Usually I just have a friend who wants to join the lobby.
