Games runs really well for me even at 1920x1200 I get 35-45 fps most if not all the time. This is with a HD 5770 and Q6600. I have most of the settings on or at max except SSAO, Uber, AA and LOD set to Normal. Are you sure it's not a problem on your end Naughty?
Oh, well, that's good that you can run it at 1200p. I thought you had mentioned previously at some point you also sometimes run this game below your native res?
I think part of the problem with this game is the scalability. Max settings (excluding Uber and excluding AA) vs. all lowest possible settings, there is very little improvement to the frame rate for me.
I can run recent games like Crysis 3 Beta, Far Cry 3, Arkham City, DXHR, ME3, DA2, Skyrim all at 1080p smoothly, some of these with mostly max settings. With Crysis 3 at max settings it's also unplayable, but when you dial the settings down, it makes a huge difference, it's actually playable at 1080p and quite smooth at 900p.
But Witcher 2 is like a slideshow unless I drop all the way down to 720p and even then it's still pretty laggy. Maybe with the other games my quad core i7 CPU makes up a bit for the weakness of my graphics card (1GB 5830m, which is based on your desktop 5770 card, but gimped with GDDR3), but Witcher 2 is apparently the only game I can't run even on lowest settings at 1080p. I mean I can run it, but it's not playable.
