Well, culturally the asari are by far the most well-adjusted and friendly. I think there is a knee-jerk reaction to feel "inferior" to such a race and to form a bias against them, but ask yourself, honestly, who you would most like to live around? It's not even close for me. Plus they're loosely based on the ancient Greek's and that era of ancient history has always been my favorite from a cultural perspective.

The turian's I feel are much like the Romans and Spartans. Highly advanced in military engineering, but a little lacking as far as having a dynamic culture.

Krogan are my favorite race as far as their design. They're somehow scary and cute at the same time, which is an amazing achievement. Wouldn't want to live with one, but I'd go out drinking with one in the Wards. ;) Obvious viking/barbarian in general analog.

Quarian's are easy to like since they are so downtrodden, and I like them, but I can't say that their culture interests me quite as much as the asari. I bet they'd be fun to game with, though.

I don't neccessarily agree with the Asari being culturally superior. Thier society can be overly political, think human politics but people have the patience to draw out things for hundreds of years. They have strange over-zealious traditions like the justicars. They remind me of elven society in fantasy novels, very heirarchical, highly culturally based, little room for actual freedom away from the culture when you are inside of it. Asari have the highest potential of being passive aggressive, coniving, back-door exploitationists... where at first may be like the culture is very safe and appealling, but actually it's of the most dangerous ( this was an example from Illium the Asari colony).

BUT... The asari are both my favorite race and culture, because it just interests me the most and Liara is my favorite character.

For the looks, I love the quarians. I find the females very attractive especially Tali even though they wear masks.

For culture? I don't know. Maybe turians. They act like the Galaxy's policeman. But I personally like the Volus because many of the volus have funny attitudes.
