This is the first time I've tried to modify a texture in the game. I've run into a lot of issues. Why does my texture look like this? Can someone tell me what specific dds format I must save the textures in? I've been using the preset for "DXT5." Please don't refer me to 40 minute video tutorials.

I could tell you, but honestly, the best way to step into this is to watch some of saltisgood's youtube tutorials. It will save you a load of time, and save others time explaining things already layed out in the video's.

This one is about normal map saving, which looks to be your issue.

Not trying to be difficult, it really is the best way.

If you'd prefer a written version you can read my blogs for the same information. Here's the first one.

I will say that you've chosen quite a difficult texture to start with. As you can see skin textures join each other and have to blend well otherwise you get those seams. I was never very good at doing them. I'd suggest trying something easier to start off with and once you've got the hang of it try again at skin.

I'm going to assume your Face Texture is a completely different skin tone, color and lighting compared to the other Textures? (Neck and Scalp). Send it over to me and I'll take a look.

This. The correct format for normal maps in ME3 is V8U8.
