The combat is the most horrendous aspect of this game.  MMOs have better action and this is a single-player game that's not even online with lag.  Did you make combat so 5 year olds could play?

Our character stands there waving a sword extremely slow...I'm going to fall asleep.  And there are NO attacks for a warrior.  I should already have at least 3 different attacks with a 2 handed sword.

And when we decapitate someone their head vanishes...what kind of crap is that?  Even The Witcher, more than 2 years old, shows their heads fly off and stay on the ground.

Korcari Wilds?  You need to rename it Korcari Swamp...it's NOTHING like how its described in the books.  Everything is out in the open, there's no way a Dalish Elf can hide.  The books, especially the first (The Stolen Throne) describes it as a wild jungle.  Not a wetland...

Also, the combat music in the Korcari Wilds is horrible.  It worked in DA Journeys
because we're inside Deep Roads and it goes well for that, but not outside in a
wilderness.  Perhaps its time you hired a real musician like, let me
see, Jeremy Soule?

Another thing while I'm at it is the beginning for a human noble, it's extremely rushed.  There's hardly any time to enjoy that life and grow with the characters there, so by the next 10 minutes when almost everyone is dead you don't really feel any emotion.  We couldn't even escape, it just loads and automatically to the next town.

Oh...and why is the father calling us pup?  We're not a DOG...we already have a dog on our party.  Please redo those ridiculous lines and have him say "SON".

And I'm not sorry to say this but you're extremely lazy not to get voices for the characters.  If your excuse is how much space it takes up then all you needed was a 2nd or 3rd disc to put all the voices in.  Everyone speaks except for us?  It doesn't kill your dialogues, but it takes away from how better it could have been.

Lastly, character creation.  What happened to a normal beard?  Why is it you only have beards that make humans look like some dwarf.  Fine, keep the santa clause beards but I'd like a beard similar to Duncan.  A NORMAL BEARD.

I've only started this, I have not even completed the quest for the Joining.  And already I am disappointed with the game.  You have a lot of work to do.

I think you're the five year old here.

Duncan says not to upset people, we don't need to give them anymore ammunition?  Okay, where are the guns?  How does he know bullets exist?  Please show me where I can buy guns and ammunition for dark spawn.

Thank you for proving me right.

Or, maybe, many people have their immersion broken by a talking player character?

Yeah man, there's no attacks at all. It's not like 2/3rd's of greatswords first tier is attacks or anything.

I honestly disagree with combat. It's intense on Nightmare Mode (which is what I'm playing). I'm full heal/support mage and am working just as hard as I do with games like WoW when I am healing. Although there are some quirks, I am loving the story so far. I read the books and am engrossed deeply in the lore.

The fact that so many characters engage in personal dialogue options is really what kept me engaged in conversations. I have not played the human origin - but am anxious to see if it's not as good as the Magi one.

Personally, I am completely satisfied with the game thus far! My sole gripe is that I can't register the game on this site so I can't access my DLC...

I stopped reading here... You clearly were misinformed about the game. It really is your own fault for buying a game you knew so little about.

Pretty extreme calling the game "garbage" when you've barely played much of it.

Also, not sure if English is your native language or not or whether you're just trolling, but you do realize that when someone says "don't give them anymore ammunition" they're saying that you shouldn't do anything that would give them more of an excuse to treat you badly or unfairly.

The father calling his youngest son "pup" is most-likely a term of endearment. Do you honestly think he thought his son was a dog or something, because you make it sound that way.

Please don't try to bring up The Witcher in comparison to this game. The Witcher had the worst combat system ever, with it's DDR-esque combo moves and extremely sluggish controls. The story was ok, but it was obvious the only reason it was popular was the excessive violence and nudity.

The intro probably seemed rushed, I would guess, because you rushed through it, not talking to people and pushing the story along. I spent two hours there. Sure, if it was real life, you'd spend 17 years there, but this is a game.

Multiple disc games (on a console, at least) rarely sell well. People don't want to be bothered to switch discs anymore. The main reason your character isn't voiced is because it is an extension of you the player and the only person that could voice it would be you.

"And when we decapitate someone their head vanishes...what kind of crap is that?" Seriously? Nitpick much?

Tell ya what, go actually play the game and then come back...

The combat on the 360 is a little odd at first and it took awhile to get good control over the whole thing. i was frustrated by a lack of options but as you add skills you get a lot more options and things pick up.

Reply:  Any other role-playing game available has better combat than this.  DA Journeys is the SAME as this.  A mere flash game on their website and you know what, it's more exciting than the combat in Origins.  How can you not see how slow and dull the combat is for a warrior?  Is this the first game you have EVER played?

The Witcher
...fast pace combat, combos and bloody.  Age of Conan, despite how glitchy that crap is the combat is better than this.  Even Oblivion's combat is more fast pace.

Duncan says not to upset people, we don't need to give them anymore ammunition?  Okay, where are the guns?  How does he know bullets exist?  Please show me where I can buy guns and ammunition for dark spawn.

Repy:  Maybe you don't get it but ammunition doesn't go into the lore AT ALL.

Reply:  I guess you won't be playing Mass Effect or the Star Wars MMO...

Reply:  Those "talents" are not attacks.  They are merely positions for your 3-second wait AUTO-ATTACK.  It's the same crap in DA Journeys.

lemme send you a bottle of whine. it seems a certain OP never paid attention to any of the marketing interviews? you just 10 yearolded all the way through cinematic trailers ignoring gameplay trailers. if you had any sense of tactics, you'd know how to zoom out and play the game as it was made to be played. "tactical party rpg" that's how. it was meant to be playable as a mmo not to revolve around that. my CE thanks...

Seriously you need to chill out. "Ammunition" has existed for weapons for centuries... long before gunpowder. The big rock you put on a catapult is "ammunition"

"Pup" is likely a term of endearment that the father uses for this children. You really think that is so wrong?

I don't have time to argue any more of your points. If you don't like it, you don't like it.

The one thing I will agree with is the beard thing... it's either short stubble or a santa claus beard, but it's not a huge deal... doesn't ruin the game...

You don't get it, "Ammunition" is a modern word.  It didn't exist in any language 2,000 years ago.  Television did not exist 3,000 years ago.  Some words are newly created as inventions are created.  Ammunition does NOT around this time.

Yeah man... I don't understand how this game sucks... If you feel that this game's too easy, don't use pause and play, and change the settings to the hardest.

Think about it, in real life, if you were asked to swing a sword, would you be able to swing as fast as you like?

About the head flying off, I kinda agree with you but that doesn't really bother anyone, does it? I mean most people aren't playing the game just to see the head fly off... Its already gory enough, even if you can't see the head flying off, with all the blood stains, etc.

Well.. About the ammunition thing, I'm not that sure.. You may be right, though I see the saying in my dictionary: "His bad behaviour provided plenty of ammunition for his opponents."

I can't say much about the swamp, because I've not read the books yet..

Well I don't have much opinions about the music.. I feel that it suits the place...

Well I agree with you that the beginning of human noble feels a little bit rushed.. But I don't really have much problems with it, as long as I grasped the main situation.

Well pup doesn't sound that bad does it? It makes you feel that your main character and his father are very bonded.

For most RPGs, the characters are usually silent protagonists, so I don't think that is a flaw for a Dragon Age.

The best thing to do is not choose the beard then.. Or you can use the developer's tools when it arrives and modify the beards to your liking perhaps? I don't think the variety of beards should be considered as a flaw for this game...

Overall this game isn't as bad as you described.. This thread should be deleted... Most of his points do not really point out the flaws of this game.. Not that there is many flaws...

What Duncan meant by ammunition was more like this:

"Information that can be used to attack or defend a claim or argument or viewpoint. ''
