So I'm interested in seeing what the rarest game anyone owns is, and thought this could be a fun thread. It'll be more interesting with pics you take yourself of course, so here's my contribution:

It's Jack Bros for the Virtual Boy. Recently picked it up for a pretty good price. I was mostly interested in this little title because, despite being a spin-off, it was the first game in the Shin Megami Tensei series to get localized here.

Let's see what you guys got.

The game and strategy guide are each going for crazy amounts of money on amazon.

I bought the strategy guide on a whim at Gamestop many many years ago for twenty bucks. Now I'd have to shell out ten times that.

If anyone says that they own one of the games shown here, then it might not be that rare.

Skyrim

But seriously though, I don't know about "rare" per se, but...

I have a complete and boxed copy of Earthbound

A complete copy of Castlevania Dracula X: Rondo of Blood for the Turbografx CD/PC Engine

Both Ogre Battle for the SNES and Ogre Battle 64

Tengen Tetris on the NES

I've been told Ninja Gaiden Trilogy (SNES) is pretty rare these days

Also have Final Fight Guy

Just a few quick ones from my collection.

Big Nose the Caveman from the old NES. It wasn't technically approved by Nintendo to be sold as a Nintendo game, due to some weird licensing issues.

Unfortunately, I don't own it anymore. Got lost in one of my moving adventures.

It's not really rare, but ME3 CE because one does not simply own this game anymore.

Nothing really that rare, the original Warcrafts and the original Icewind Dale come to mind.

Capcom vs SNK 2 is my most rare game with Ys: The Ark of Naphistim and Arcana Heart 1 being runner-ups(all on PS2) afaik.

Valkyrie Profile, more than likely. I also have an original-pressing copy of SMT: Nocturne with the soundtrack, but the game itself isn't hard to find anymore.

I wish I kept my Holograph Majora's Mask (bought it brand new) and gold Ocarina of Time (bought it at a pawn shop in pretty good condition). I guess right now, I've sold about 90% of my old games, it would probably be my Super Mario RPG.

Post this again around 2050 when my collector's edition of GTA: III and New Vegas would be worth a ton, at least I'm hoping lol.

Same again but add in I and III (I have IV and V but they aren't rare) plus an original copy of Vandal Hearts and a copy of Border Down which I've never opened because I've never owned a Dreamcast.

Most of my games were rare before GOG came out. I have a four-disc box set for BG :D and it can still be used for Win7 64bit, even though it's not really compatible
