Hi everyone,

As promised this is the first of my Platinum speed run tutorial guides. This first one is on Firebase Giant and I want to thank Bechter, Geekfest and only1biggs, members of S.p.E.c.T.r.E X and Team AreleX for making this happen. 

I go through detail what each position does on every wave, clearing spawns, where to look and a few more tips. Our time was 11:52 and its not a record as this is not for the best time but this is to show all of those who want to learn how to speed run the tactics that fall behind speed running.

I think its also appropriate now that we all know new DLC is coming up that maybe some of your games can be speed runs themselves. Why try to rocket glitch and cheat when you can play the game in so many fun legit ways? Here is another way to play.B)

I hope this is helpful to you guys and we have two more maps we are working on presently.

Map: Firebase Giant
Enemy: Cerberus
Time: 11:52

EDIT: Ooops...I forgot the dollar signs.

IMPORTANT: There is just one thing I forgot to explain and that's the targets objective. If you get it do not nuke but EVERYONE has to leave their spots to focus fire on the target. This way the target dies fast and your missile count stays the same.

probably white. we're around the 11min mark for that, just need those lucky objectives. speaking of which, we probably could have shaved off a minute if we didn't get 2 devices. but, it was a tutorial, so no harm

Obvious noob question - what would you use instead of a harrier for those of us who don't have one?

use various assault rifles & earn one quickly. Substitute favorite weapon class if you no like assault rifle.

What ever gun your are most comfortable with but most of the top teir weapons will be ideal harrier, claymore, hurricane, PPR, Talon, Wraith, and Pirahna. You want something with high DPS so you can take down bosses fast.

Now you really made me want to try and do a plat speed run (never bothered with those) not for getting a perfect time but just for the thrill of it. xD Just gotta find some willling subjects teammates. :o

P.S. Real great explanations about the strategy too, so keep the videos coming!

we were discussing in the lobby, that it's really the only way to have a pure co-op game. constant call outs, positionings, timings etc... it's great
