I heard those 2 guys Bechter and Geekfest are pretty bad at this game, so this is clearly a slow time.

Nice guide though for real, Bechter and Geekfest are some of the best speedrunners I have met and are great to play with. Glad to see you took the plunge into speedruns, they can be a lot of fun especially when you are fairly new to them.

Where have you been? Hope all is well and you didn't take the ravens super bowl win to hard.

The challenge in this sort of game isn't to finish the match. We were never in danger of failing. It's a different sort of game. The challenge is to get the fastest time possible. Of course we are using every overpowered option we can.

Quick speedruns are mainly about strategy and teamwork. Giant is possibly the easiest map to run. Coordination and knowing what everyone else is doing is important. Still you have to be able to take care of enemies very quickly on your own when you aren't rocketing. You don't have anybody to revive you, running out of gels can kill the run.

first 3 statements are facts but the last one is wrong. Everything in the video was legit. Are you saying rocket usage isn't a legit part of ME3?

It's legit. But cheap and doesn't require any skill.

Neither does a no-rocket speed run. Also what you define as "cheap" is irrelevant. This was done with the sole purpose of trying to show players a how to speed run and the tactics involved. We are trying to boast about our abilities. I enjoy speedrunning for the teamwork work involved and the development of the strategies.

I think a lot of players know how to use a rocket laucher. IMO, what they would like to learn is how to play without them. And clear spawns and control them efficiently. Now that would require proper teamwork and strategies. Missiling spawns is nothing impressive.

Been busy taking care of IRL things, this is one of the few times I actually have had free time lately (and that is because I can't get to sleep right now). All is well and I was actually pulling for the Ravens (I know, shocking!). I may be back a little for DLC, but even that will be extremely limited playtime. That said, I will probably be looking to do some speedruns when that happens since I will want to be able to get in as many games as possible, even if there is no real strategy to it.

@Air Quotes: Add on an extra like 3 mins or so and there is your time without missiles. Takes no extra "skill" at all, just more time.Image IPB

Pretty sure INVADERONE has a bunch of tutorials for non-rocket runs already.

One does not do a speed run to impress. If all you take from this video is missiling spawns than you don't understand everything else that is going on. I welcome you to try speedrunning another map with rockets to show just how simple it is.

Speedrunning=Pull out rocket launcher and nuke. Nothing else is required

Not sure why Air Quotes is avid about his no rocket point of view. As Bechter linked here there have been many no rocket speed runs in the past. I am going to work with these teams to provide various guides on different types of speed running. We can work on a no rocket speed run as well. Either way they are all speed runs and fun regardless. Not one point of view is greater than the other. They are simply different ways to play. As you can tell by all the challenges I do that I like to do them all. Its fun. We will get to the rest as we do more speed run guides.

That was a interesting one but you used grenades, wall hacks, and drill ammo its only legit if you do it blind folded while only using melee. ;)

We did 9-10 minute Glacier speed-runs no problem. Did similar on Goddess and White. It's nothing too hard. Even without mics.

Well damn. I shall respec my Demolisher for no grenades and will only melee. Will Drill rounds help me melee through walls whilst I am blind-folded?

Air Quotes is right. You're all talentless scrubs who can't get off the shuttle without Armored Compartments on an Infiltrator. L2P noobs....

PS... Nice video. Glad to see you guys got this off the ground.

Pylon kills is the only legit way to Demolisher.

Yeah, didn't mean to disrespect. I can see you guys had fun with this. I can definitely understand the adrenaline side of it, and the skill involved. But it's not for me, for sure.

Tried a few on Glacier before armoured compartements. But they were only fun if paired with a theme (imo). All bubble girls, or all grenade lizards were quite fun. But I enjoy making mistakes, and the situations mistakes will put you in, too much for this. ME3 will always be for the lulz with mates for me. Not score or time.

Well it's definetely more interesting and more challenging to do it without rockets. And even more so without grenades.

@Air Quotes: Opinion, not fact. I have done plenty of games pretty much any way you can imagine (melee only being a no grenade one), every single different way can be interesting. More challenging? Not really, just a bit more time consuming.

@Geekfest: I think I get a Supply Pylon kill in extraction during that video.
