Which is odd because you don't even need 50k points of troopers for Geth mastery (think it's 45k). So that does seem like a high number.

I was going to ask them to clarify if this was just against the Geth Trooper as it states but then I realized that I don't care. I will just play against Geth and check my challenge screen. Either way it's another free commendation pack weekend (unless you don't have a Quarian character).
